This question has been bugging me since it was revealed that Rose had to give up her form but how did she know that? Yes, Garnet could have told her what she needed to do but remember Garnet was just as confused about Steven when he was a baby much less on how to care for him so how would she understand the concept of Rose giving birth? Also when Aquamarine appeared I felt that there was foreshadowing there when Connie asked if they were sure Steven wasn’t the only human gem alive right now. Wondering about the timelines of pearl joining the crystal gems? Pearl is defective as we know, also she has been referred to as a very expensive pearl so she belonged to a gem of a high ranking. If pink diamond was defective/ a runt it makes a lot of sense that she'd have a defective pearl. Also taking into account that you think padparadscha served pink it would make sense why no gem predicted her shattering as she was given a bunch of defective gems essentially just to keep her busy. Pearl might have come into contact with Rose and stayed serving the diamond to get information. Events might have taken place that led to Pearl shattering pink diamond, likely because she was defending Rose. Either way if Pearl did shatter her own diamond I don't think she'd be able to handle it. Maybe Rose out of compassion took credit for Pink's shattering to spare Pearl. In the trial episode a pearl was referenced. Anyway that's my theory. I'm very unclear about the timelines of when Pearl joined the rebellion. As we saw Pearl with Rose in the episode where Sapphire and Ruby meet but I'm not sure if that takes place before or after Pink's shattering and I don't believe there's any way to judge the timeline of that episode.

Sin Ful No no not that, I mean the effects of corruption itself that stemmed from the attack. Think about it from the perspective of Homeworld. Every time the 'Diamond Attack' is referenced by someone thats not a Crystal Gem, they act as if the attack was meant to destroy all the rebels, i.e. Peridot, Hessonite, even the Off-Colors once said the word on Homeworld was that the Diamonds decimated them, they're supposed to be dead yet they arent- how is something like that even a thing. I mean like if attack itself was meant to do damage to them and destroy them completely, but instead left the rebels intact but mentally ruined and corrupted unintentionally. They're technically still alive, but corrupted- which is a large difference from being "wiped out" as the entirety of Homeworld believed they were. Going off the note that the attack itself is a conjoint effort from all the Diamonds, I'd imagine if there was one less Diamond the attack as a whole would have a different effect on the Gems and at the time Pink technically was no longer among them. With one less Diamond who's to say their former Gem destroying attack was missing an element and is now reduced to corruption.
BladedShard9 I think I understand where your coming from, and I think it's a possibility, but I still think corruption was more of a way to silent the witnesses to pinks murder- because from a show writer point of view imagine how surprising it would be if they uncorrupted a gem and that gem knew how pink diamond actually died- I feel it would put a new reason to why the un-corruption of gems in necessary, maybe even urgent, cause as of now uncorrupting gems just feels like it doesn't have any importance to it, outside of sentimental reasons- I mean aside from some feel good scenes and possible future allies, what would un-corrupting really do for the plot?

It actually would make sense it was WD because first of all: In another video he mentioned that in corruption, YD harmed the physical side of the gem and BD harmed the emotional side so all that leaves is WD who messed with the mind of corrupted gems so it would make sense that she shattered PD then altered the minds of the Homeworld gems to frame Rose. Second of all: If I remember, diamonds are the hardest on the geology scale of hardness. And because of that, nothing can even make a dent in diamonds. I am onboard with Pink coming back, so two things: One, Steven would HAVE TO go pretty much "around the world" Phineas Fogg style to get this for maybe half of the upcoming season. Second, and MAYBE it's me, but otherwise.... Pink gets a chance to not only return but also"blend in"(I'm picturing a version of her in 80s throwback clothing, since most of has come back) before picking up or whether or not she wants to resume power hearing from the Gems about the past 6-7000 years, especially being the same BUT shook up in a way that she's more mature,....ish.

I really hope Steven doesn’t resurrect Pink. That plot twist would go against everything the show is trying to convey with this arc. If Steven just revives Pink the entire show past season 3 would be meaningless. Steven coming to terms with the fact the figure whom he idolised since the beginning did something so awful and how he experiences it’s effect on the diamonds while knowing he could never fix it. None of it matters. It feels similar to people theorising Rose will come back. It doesn’t fit with what the show is trying to teach.

I want everything from season 1 to matter. Maybe not Cookie Cat, cat fingers, or Frybo, but I want random corrupted gems to come back, or an explanation for why there's less monster attacks on Beach City now. I want to revisit all of the gem locations, or at least find out their history and purpose. I want to learn about the Heaven and Earth beetles, the geode, and that scroll/poster with the smoke spirit thing. I want to know how these things make sense, and fit in with what we know about Gems now. I mean, it all happened, it's canon, so their has to be some in-Universe explanations for it all.

I really hope this is the direction the show goes, a globe trotting murder mystery that gives us insight to Rose and Pink Diamond's past as well as revisit locations from season 1. Although I wonder if the Gems would be willing to let Steven investigate, given the last time he tried to look for answers, maybe some potential conflict there?

This was a great episode! I followed along with the logic of the theories and they make sense. It would be way too easy for Steven to go to these locations, fall asleep, and we conveniently have all the answers. But when you talked about Steven actually witnessing Pink's shattering from either the perspective of Rose or Pink, I watched with the same expression the Pearls had during the defense portion of the Trial. Someone save my meatball from this! But it has to happen. I would be disappointed as a fan if we saw Pink's shattering the same way we saw the creation of Garnet. It has to be first-hand, meaning Steven seeing it for himself.

Sin Ful No no not that, I mean the effects of corruption itself that stemmed from the attack. Think about it from the perspective of Homeworld. Every time the 'Diamond Attack' is referenced by someone thats not a Crystal Gem, they act as if the attack was meant to destroy all the rebels, i.e. Peridot, Hessonite, even the Off-Colors once said the word on Homeworld was that the Diamonds decimated them, they're supposed to be dead yet they arent- how is something like that even a thing. I mean like if attack itself was meant to do damage to them and destroy them completely, but instead left the rebels intact but mentally ruined and corrupted unintentionally. They're technically still alive, but corrupted- which is a large difference from being "wiped out" as the entirety of Homeworld believed they were.
Going off the note that the attack itself is a conjoint effort from all the Diamonds, I'd imagine if there was one less Diamond the attack as a whole would have a different effect on the Gems and at the time Pink technically was no longer among them. With one less Diamond who's to say their former Gem destroying attack was missing an element and is now reduced to corruption.
BladedShard9 I think I understand where your coming from, and I think it's a possibility, but I still think corruption was more of a way to silent the witnesses to pinks murder- because from a show writer point of view imagine how surprising it would be if they uncorrupted a gem and that gem knew how pink diamond actually died- I feel it would put a new reason to why the un-corruption of gems in necessary, maybe even urgent, cause as of now uncorrupting gems just feels like it doesn't have any importance to it, outside of sentimental reasons-
I mean aside from some feel good scenes and possible future allies, what would un-corrupting really do for the plot?

If we can make the assumption that what she sees through that gem-eye is tinted red, then what she saw was something much BRIGHTER Quartz, or a brighter gem shapeshifted into Rose, than the actual Rose Quartz, to make it look pink through Eyeballs perspective.

It actually would make sense it was WD because first of all: In another video he mentioned that in corruption, YD harmed the physical side of the gem and BD harmed the emotional side so all that leaves is WD who messed with the mind of corrupted gems so it would make sense that she shattered PD then altered the minds of the Homeworld gems to frame Rose.
Second of all: If I remember, diamonds are the hardest on the geology scale of hardness. And because of that, nothing can even make a dent in diamonds. The only thing that can shatter a diamond are other diamonds so it would make sense that it was a diamond that shattered Pink and not another gem.

I am onboard with Pink coming back, so two things: One, Steven would HAVE TO go pretty much "around the world" Phineas Fogg style to get this for maybe half of the upcoming season. Second, and MAYBE it's me, but otherwise.... Pink gets a chance to not only return but also"blend in"(I'm picturing a version of her in 80s throwback clothing, since most of has come back) before picking up or whether or not she wants to resume power hearing from the Gems about the past 6-7000 years, especially being the same BUT shook up in a way that she's more mature,....ish.

I really hope Steven doesn’t resurrect Pink. That plot twist would go against everything the show is trying to convey with this arc. If Steven just revives Pink the entire show past season 3 would be meaningless. Steven coming to terms with the fact the figure whom he idolised since the beginning did something so awful and how he experiences it’s effect on the diamonds while knowing he could never fix it. None of it matters.
It feels similar to people theorising Rose will come back. It doesn’t fit with what the show is trying to teach.

What if the reason why YD was so furious during the trial because she was actually grieving for PD too? Every time Blue Zircon mentioned PD and the shattering, we see that BD became more and more sad. YD could be feeling the same but can't show it because it could ruin her reputation and homeworld can't afford another diamond wasting time by grieving. She wanted thr trial to end before her emotions got out of hand. (Also she might be furious at Blue Zircon for blaming her of shattering her 'sister' who she mourned for.)

The idea of visiting places around the world related to Pink Diamond reminds me SO MUCH to a Story quest in Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild. I don't know if that would fit in a cartoon, but it is such a nice idea and theory! Good job my dude! *applauses*

Maybe not Cookie Cat, cat fingers, or Frybo, but I want random corrupted gems to come back, or an explanation for why there's less monster attacks on Beach City now. I want to revisit all of the gem locations, or at least find out their history and purpose. I want to learn about the Heaven and Earth beetles, the geode, and that scroll/poster with the smoke spirit thing. I want to know how these things make sense, and fit in with what we know about Gems now. I mean, it all happened, it's canon, so their has to be some in-Universe explanations for it all.

I really hope this is the direction the show goes, a globe trotting murder mystery that gives us insight to Rose and Pink Diamond's past as well as revisit locations from season 1. Although I wonder if the Gems would be willing to let Steven investigate, given the last time he tried to look for answers, maybe some potential conflict there?

This was a great episode! I followed along with the logic of the theories and they make sense. It would be way too easy for Steven to go to these locations, fall asleep, and we conveniently have all the answers. But when you talked about Steven actually witnessing Pink's shattering from either the perspective of Rose or Pink, I watched with the same expression the Pearls had during the defense portion of the Trial. Someone save my meatball from this! But it has to happen. I would be disappointed as a fan if we saw Pink's shattering the same way we saw the creation of Garnet. It has to be first-hand, meaning Steven seeing it for himself.
