I don't really follow NASCAR, but when I saw SVG in the timing sheet I went, "He's going to somehow win this right at the end, like how he always does with supercars."
I was not disappointed :D

SVG really made this race fun to watch. He earned that win.
Kiwis truly punch above our weight, especially when our population is only 5 millon (same as the state of Alabama). We have leading drivers in Indy Car, Supercars, Formula E, and Fia Wec.
And Louis Sharp too, British F4 champ and in GB3 rn coming for the top kiwi title in a few years. Already did a Mercedes F1 sim test. Super talent to look out for!

I love some IMSA and Indy road races, but this Xfinity race in Portland was the best argy bargy slugfest I've seen in a while. Congrats to Van Gisbergen

It was over as soon as he got the inside look on the final restart. He knew exactly how to hit those first few corners to get the lead. What a racer, man

yeah and it seemed like those in the booth understood racing, they knew Mayer left the door open, and Shane went for it, they knew he was bumping and grinding to get past, and they seemed to respect that, as they called out it going both ways.

If we lose the Chicago street course I vote we bring Portland to Cup. Such a fun track.
First time watching US racing was Shayne at Chicago, I thought that track was way too simple, needed a lot of hard corner's,and speed sections, certainly different to what we have down here in the Southern hemisphere, Shayne will only get better,by next year,hope he's got his head around the ovals

Indy ..... & now has been given a waiver for competing in an unsanctioned Nascar Race ..... it would be ' a bridge too far ' Nascar would not permit any driver to compete Down Under ...... Nascar would not want to sanction a Foreign held Road Course ...... yet, that maybe the way forward into the future if they want their sport to survive .... an amalgamation of World Road Tracks .....

Am I the only one who wants like a condensed race? I feel these "extended" highlights aren't extended enough at times.
That's a good idea, because there's not any coverage readily available here in Australia. In Supercars SVG was a polarising figure, but I still want to see his NASCAR ventures, whatever the result.
SVG has what Ambrose didn't have, " get out of my way mentality".
Loved seeing footage of the big wreck with a bunch of cars that caused that last caution! 😐😐😐 Seemed like a very important part of the race!
A couple cars spun in the final turn, took out a few more, and they threw the caution. About the same as a million other NASCAR wrecks...

The highlight of the race for me was SVG's victory lap - Amazing car control - pity it wasn't included in this highlights package.
Why does SVG pit before the first stage is declared out of a concern for pitting under the caution automatically created following the conclusion of the stage, if the car that won the stage ‘Allgeier’, was still on the front row for the resumption of stage 2??
no clue why they threw the caution for Deegan but not Alfredo.... no debris. Sam Mayer slow on track with a tire issue, also no caution, just NASCAR dictating the race as usual
