CC's solo for life goes on is one of the most prolific mesmerizing emotional solos of all time in my view....
I'll never forget the day I was able to play that solo perfect note for note on guitar I got so excited I was yelling and screaming throughout the house I DID IT I DID IT my mom said WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU SON? I told my mom COME HERE COME HERE and I played the solo for her on the CD then I played the solo RIGHT ALONG with the CD my mom said VERY GOOD SON NOW GO BACK TO BED ITS 3 O CLOCK IN THE FUCKING MORNING

CC was Poison! Without him...Poison would of never lifted off the ground!
Not sure I agree he was a bigger star or key member than Bret. Bret's incredible stage charisma is every bit as key as CC's guitar playing. Hopefully we would agree Bret is the sizzle, CC is the steak. Both important.
That’s right! He was the only band member with ANY musical talent at all and his virtuosity and songwriting carried that band through their entire career!!
CC Deville’s solo for ‘Nothin’ but a good time’ is what got me into Metal. Hair Metal was on the wane at the time, but it opened my eyes up to a new world of music. I learned to play guitar and moved on to heavier stuff i.e. Sepultura, Megadeth, Annihilator, Death...and so on. Without doubt CC Deville was my first step on a fantastic(continuing) Metal journey. Forever grateful🇮🇪🤘🏻💀
I met CC on the Ratt tour and he was really cool he talked to me and my friend about guitar stuff and told what pick ups to use and he also told us that he writes a lot of music but they split it 4 ways less fighting that way
Dude went to Julliard school of music...that says a lot.
Love his playing
CC Deville is WAY under-rated. He got stuck in the Glam genre, and never got a chance to showcase his blues rock style.
Very true. He had so much to offer and then got boxed in by Poison. Joining Poison was an insanely good career move, but it was like an actor who is typecast.
He has more than meets the eye guitar arsenal the glam era stereo typed him by giving him limitations to fully express his hidden talent😄👍👏🎵🎶🎼absolutely under rated guitar god🎸
@@roosterj2599 Exactly. Tracii Guns once talked about him and said CC is better than people give him credit for. I would go out there when CC was sound checking and playing this incredible stuff and one time I asked him.. Why don't you play stuff like that live? And he replied, "Nah Poison fans don't want hear that". I think he's wrong now, back then I'm sure he was probably right, but I mean look at this stadium tour right now his short solo spot is mostly Randy Rhoads & EVH stuff and the crowd is going crazy for it. I think the fans are ready to hear what CC is really about and capable of.
Yeah CC is way underrated because he was in poison. The brother can play anything, ive seen it. This is coming from a Randy Rhoads fanatic.
Yep CC in the wrong band, was all. Boy were they lucky to have him. LOVE that CC!!!
I know it's been a long time but back in 1987 hearing cc play on look what the cat dragged in made me pick up a guitar. I have had one in my hands ever since.👍
My favorite guitar player hands down cc deville is the reason i picked up a guitar . Thanks for the video
Me too, in a way. CC was such a hero, I hate revisionist "cool kid" history. As a 6 year old kid, I was jamming my older brother's cassettes and air guitaring to Poison. Because it was great. Nothing to do with what they looked like, it was guitar rock.
Love CC Deville. I'm from El Salvador and didn't understand English back in 1989. But I understood guitar.
Liked the flamenco solo at the beginning of the video. With regards to that song C.C. recorded for the Son In Law soundtrack, are you sure that was Kelly Hansen on vocals? I thought it was Spike from The London Quireboys. Anyway, it was C.C. who rekindled my interest in playing guitar and Poison that got me into hard rock and heavy metal -- true story. A cassette copy of Open Up And Say Ahh was the first album I ever bought, and I haven't been the same since! LOL!
Very underated player.
Watching CC on the stadium tour is awesome! He is not missing a beat. The whole band sounds great!!! Just look at the reviews. Love the Gmp guitars he's using!!! Keep rockin Cc
CC IS the BEST
Good video. I always thought C.C. was better than people have him credit for. I hope he's rich as f.
That one bad MTV performance hurt his reputation but great guitarist none the less
Back when music was fun.
He's the reason I picked up guitar
Been a CC fan from the start. Never new he wrote TDTM and played lead on cherry pie
Love the dude and very underrated.
I just had this feeling today to look up C.C. and see what he's been up to and this vid popped up so very nice even had a rundown of his gear.
thanks for watching Steve, I have other Guitar Stories you may want to check out too.
CC's BC Rich collection in the Look what the cat dragged In era was nothing less than amazing. He had every color of every model I swear! I would kill for a couple hours with that collection. I'd try to play all of them. Lol! I owned 3 USA BC Rich guitars in the late 80s. A black Warlock with blood runs, solid black Bitch and a Gunslinger with a skull and crossbones. High quality and sounded amazing. The ones that got away. Ugh
Too bad he had all of them stolen, he had some nice ones for sure, custom artwork and all by some great artists
Sorry, but the #1 underrated guitarist of the hair metal scene was that dude from XYZ. What an animal
CC not bad guitar player at all. Much respect the original member are together. That says a whole lot!
C.C. is a bit like a hair metal guitar savant. The stuff he does off the top of his head gives away his genius when you go back and review it. The tell is in understanding the difference between the explicit and implicit. There are probably many guys with better technique, but that's the product of slavishly practicing. The measure of his brilliance is in his creativity and fearless approach in the moment. His reckless abandon. Watch the live stuff. He is really like a bit of a wunderkind trying to cure his own boredom. This no doubt drives people like Brett Michaels crazy, who focus on having the details nailed down, and who prefer certainty over risk in a performance. The upshot of that might be that Bobby and Ricky were a rock solid rhythm section that provided a foundation for someone like CC to be able to go off like a loose cannon and still have a solid place to land.
Thanks for putting it all together in one video! ❤
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Please stay tuned as we have more coming!
C.C. not only used DM strings but he also used G.H.S strings & his guitar collection number count that he owns is 275 guitars which also range from B.C.RICH, GIBSON, FENDER, JACKSON, YAMAHA, IBANEZ & G.M.P.
Fact! POISON also had #1 hit on the "Open up and say ....ahh" LP. Fallen Angel & Your mama do t dance. And the drug influence was among all four member, not just Bret Michaels.
The only #1 hit they had was Every Rose Has Its Thorn (unless youre talking from another country besides USA)
Cheers for that. x
Blues Saraceno played with Poison after Kotzen
One of my three top.
CC
Dime
Jerry R
That's it.
I'm changing my name to H Civic 😁
Please, you CANNOT say "Acting Career" & mention The Surreal Life in the same sentence. LMAO
Would love to hear the needle park demos.
I never understood why CC got the wrap of being a crappy guitar player back in the day (this is back in the 80's) I thought he was pretty good.
That said I guess most of Poison is considered crap by today's critics (because they're stupid) . It was feel good music, and served it's place at the time. Aside from that, Fallen Angel and Something to Believe In stood out to me. Good songs.
So they became The New Stepmothers.
08:26.........CC starts his very own version of Steve Vai`s " I Would Love To " !!!!!!!!!!!
is this a wig?
Of the four Poison members he was the only one with chops. The rest sucked. Especially Ricky "Rackett"
33 devil
That’s really some garbage acoustic playing.
Its been my experience when people bash others they are either jealous, or not that good of player because they're lazy. Promote what you love instead of bashing people. You'll feel better about yourself.
My Record Collector Guru Shijo Kingo says thank you 🙏🏼 for looking after sun after his death… he blessed me in that moment cuz he knew those wicked evil 👿 ppl were gonna steal from me and my child forced into the elements and if u R who U Say U R… then absolutely 💯 I accept 💎🫶🏼✨🌎🙏🏼
