@@TritoneChris - The only guilt I have is that there's never been anyone I've felt that way about. As far as i can tell, it's only something to aspire to.
I've been to multiple weddings where the DJ will work the crowd of married couples to find the one that's been together the longest and gives them the dance floor all to themselves while this is playing.
That was good summer, as I recall. My cousin and I would cruise around the town in his freshly waxed white 1960 Chevy Impala 2-door (no post) singing along with "Still the One" at the top of our lungs. When it first charted, a lot of listeners thought they were hearing the new one from Elvin Bishop.
One advantage of being old is having had this music in my youth... Still the One was a hit in 1976 when I was in high school. It's a joy to see new generations of music listeners discover what real music sounds like...yes I said REAL MUSIC....not that god awful crap of today... OK now get off my lawn you young punks 🤬😂🤣
I remember that too! Laverne & Shirley and Fonzie, Chachi & Joanie, Mr. Kotter were all dancing and mouthing the words to the song. That was the first time I ever remember hearing this song. So cool that someone else remembered that too!
As always, I find myself with a big smile watching your videos. Glad to see that music brings you so much joy! The group's name is pronounced or-LEENS and they had a few hits in the mid to late 70s. Beside this song, they also had Dance With Me and Love Takes Time. After their album with this song, guitarist John Hall left the band and formed the John Hall Band and had a moderate hit with Crazy. He later went on to become a Democratic US congressman from New York. Unfortunately, their lead vocalist, Larry Hoppen, committed suicide in 2012.
Thanks for another great reaction and dance and lip sync performance, Angela! And once again I am grateful that someone considered this a guilty pleasure, if that is what it took for you to react to it, but this is just a terrific song and I have never felt the slightest bit of guilt listening to it! Also, I just thought of another couple of songs for your long list of songs to get to (not a guilty pleasure). Please add "Operator" by Jim Croce and "Sylvia's Mother" by Doctor Hook!! Loving your channel and all the positive energy you bring into the world!!
One of my happiest moments with my daughter. We had just moved up to Alaska it was our first night in the new place and we had the radio on as we were making our first dinner, dancing about the kitchen as we each prepped part of the dinner. Ahh Nostalgia, that bittersweet nectar of happy times and sad longing for times past.
The song cooks right off the top! I enjoy the harmony guitar lines and their vocal harmonies make you want to sing along. Lead vocal is pure gold. Great arrangement!
During the 70’s the three major networks would have theme songs for their fall lineup and ABC chose this which not only was 💵 but probably more impactful than radio airplay. Everyone wanted to know who the group was🎼
I saw these guys when their first album came out and became an instant fan. amazing live club band. Great singing, musicianship, songwriting you name it.
They also had a hit titled Dance With Me! You should check out some American Bandstand videos with Dick Clark! You'd probably acquire some material from watching that show!
Lead singer on this song and drums was Larry Hoppen (rip). Singer guitarist band founder and songwriter John Hall, Lance Hoppen on bass, keyboards Wells Kelly and Jerry Marotta drums.
List of things that every other reactioneer should learn from you (you keep it so professional) 1. Your sound set up/volume leves/quality of equipment is Superb. Just great Sound with balanced Bass, Trebles and Mids. 2. You enjoy the song with us at least 1/2 of it before you pause it and if you do, you keep it to a minimum and then you get to the End to give us 'your opinion' unlike others that talk 4-5 minutes before the song start and keep interrupting it every 20 seconds to give us their "expert opinion" because they want to Disect it like a Dead Frog... And they get lost into their 'me, me, me as if we need a long and boring Essay... Gee... 3. You Really listen to the song & lyrics trying to get the meaning of the tune instead of yammering and screetching singing on top of the music as if we came here to listen to you sing instead of the Artist (very respectful & considerate) 4. They way that you conduct yourself with tact & taste instead of acting like a 13 year old going to a K-Pop concert. I get and love happy people, heck, my sense of humor Rivals anyone that I know but, there's a place and time for everything and espontaneity with humor and spark is a plus but some people just play the Clown without any wit or grace just to "spike the most attention" from the visitor. and Last but not Least #6. You know how to "apply" your personality to each and every song with sincerity and honesty and even get Sentimental doing it and it looks Sincere and Natural, Not Acted. I love that about you. Keep up the great, great work and reviews. You've got the winning formula hands down. Peace, PhoenixOne
Another great Guilty Pleasure Song - "Believe It Or Not" by Joey Scarbury - ua-cam.com/video/CcGQhm9vJw0/v-deo.html It's one of the few songs that started out as the theme song for a tv show (80s show "The Greatest American Hero" - average teacher is given by aliens a suit with superhero powers, but loses the instruction manual), but actually be so popular that it begins to chart on its own (made it to #2 on Billboard Hot 100). It's got that perfect amount of 80s cheesiness to it. It's mostly forgotten about, but will occasionally pop up as a random reference (most famously on Seinfeld, but has also been on Family Guy and was in the new Ryan Reynolds movie 'Free Guy'). When I was in Jr High, I went to a summer camp where where they had daily games & competitions, and this was the song they'd always play when announcing that days MVP award - so it definitely has strong Guilty Pleasure/Nostalgia vibes for me.
You asked who these guys sound like. To me, they sound like a mash-up of the Oak Ridge Boys and the Beatles. The Beatles for the superb tight harmonies, and the Oak Ridge Boys for the excellent bass singer. Neither of those would be remotely current, however.
A couple of options from Billy Idol for my guilty pleasure: Hot In The City: ua-cam.com/video/PinBVYKQGeM/v-deo.html Mony Mony: ua-cam.com/video/sYYAv-QW38Q/v-deo.html
It's funny, don't you think, all these kids doing reactions on UA-cam who can't tell the 70's from the 60's, or the 80's from the 90's? If you lived through any of those decades, you don't confuse them because they each had a distinctive vibe to them.
Not a guilty pleasure, just a great song.
This song came out in 1975. Was a big hit for Orleans.
Love this song. Has sentimental value to it. After 17 years of marriage, my husband called the radio station and dedicated this song to me
Great song. It is one of my favorites. Another great one from them is Dance With Me
Yes I love that song
And don't forget Love Takes Time
I have no guilt for listening to this one - a great song with excellent musicians with great vocals!
Ditto. I must be getting old or something because I can't fathom why anyone would consider this insanely good song a "Guilty Pleasure"
@@TritoneChris - The only guilt I have is that there's never been anyone I've felt that way about.
As far as i can tell, it's only something to aspire to.
This song is 45yrs old and still gets airplay today. Because it’s a really good song no one should feel guilty for liking…
I've been to multiple weddings where the DJ will work the crowd of married couples to find the one that's been together the longest and gives them the dance floor all to themselves while this is playing.
Angela, I'm impressed that you know a lot of these old songs! Someone schooled you right 😉.
I remember growing up and ABC would play this song during the summer, to show the line up for their fall TV shows.
That's what this song always reminded me of too.

Your chair dancing is always so cute

Yes I totally agree with you nicely put😁
Lol
I second that emotion!
Singing right along here with you! They also do "Dance With Me" which is another feel good song.
I remember when ABC used this song in their commercials back in the late 70s for their fall lineup.
I remember that too! Laverne & Shirley and Fonzie, Chachi & Joanie, Mr. Kotter were all dancing and mouthing the words to the song. That was the first time I ever remember hearing this song. So cool that someone else remembered that too!
Sill the One was a peak song for Orleans. That said they are still touring.. Amazing group to see live.. They have seamlessly added/changed members...
💂🙌📯💨THIS WAS THE THEME SONG 🎵TO CHANNEL " A.B.C." with all of the great shows of the70's.
This song always puts me in a good mood
As others have said, no guilt, just pleasure.
John Hall , one of the original members of this group , was a Congressman from New York .
He's retired now .
Co-wrote this tune with his wife, at the time, Joanna.
This is one of those great rock songs from the 70's that makes you feel good and cheer! 😊
Gorgeous woman and beautiful song

First 45 I bought in a…record store.
Orleans doesn't sound like anyone in my opinion. Just a great sound. Okay beautiful.
How come you play the Air Guitar, but we never see you play the Air Accordian? About time you showed some versitility!
"Let Your Love Flow" - The Bellamy Brothers "Shambala" - Three Dog Night "How Much I Feel" = Ambrosia "Just Remember I Love You" - Firefall
Love this group. They had a few hits. Very talented. Great vocals and musicians.

Great song. Can't help myself...
Such a fun track! And the group's name is pronounced just like New Orleans (without the 'New', obviously...lol).

The Seventies just hit different... we're still havin' fun...
“GS” Great song!
You'll like Dance With Me by Orleans but check out Love Takes Time by Orleans as well
Another great reaction Angela...Cute. Orleans had a couple of great tunes

Actually the group is pronounced "Or-leens". Great song from 1975.
Love Takes Time was another big hit for them.
Dance with Me is another classic by this band
I feel no guilt in saying this song is awesome, it's got some incredible vocals.
Wow what a beautiful woman and beautiful song
Fantastic song!
Okay, this one is better than I remember it being….
Nice tune.
One of mines also.moonlight feels right is another one.

Is it true that the lead guitarist of this band became a congressman?
You should do Paul Simon Still crazy
would like to recommend a sad but beautiful song by Hot chocolate, Emma/Emily
Need to react to the Jackson five looking through the window or maybe tomorrow/ brand new thing

They remind me of America .
Maybe the America of the 1970's when they song came out, but not the disaster that exists these days.
Orleans
This song was from 1976.
Please react to the group called Vread guitar man etc. They are FANTASTIC
Sound reminds me of Hall and Oates
Do "Dance With Me" by Orleans.
I wish you would react to "Kiss You All Over" by Exile
Venus by Shocking Blue
can you react to Firefal's song Strange Way
Good song, but it kind of killed it for me when NBC used it for their theme song years ago.
NBC/Biden...yuck
It was actually ABC who used it... ua-cam.com/video/8IQmlPvCJ58/v-deo.html
ABC. Not NBC.
Probably more 76 than 66

This song was used for a commercial for Coca Cola?
I know ABC used it for their programming promotion in the mid to late 70's.
@@VikingJeff Yes that’s where it was. That song is unforgettable when there was only 4 tv stations. LOL
Its pronounced Or-leens.
Yet another classic rock song from my youth that I refuse to accept as anyone's "Guilty Pleasure".
Well it's fortunate that nobody request your permission then, isn't it? Just go with the bit, why don't ya? :)
