To ease traffic on the Noida and Greater Noida Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, an alternative expressway is planned from Okhla Barrage to Yamuna Expressway via the Hindon-Yamuna Doab. It will be either a 6-lane elevated or 8-lane ground-level expressway, aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing pollution. Commuters face heavy traffic jams while traveling from Delhi to Noida, which is not only time-consuming but also increases carbon emissions, thereby contributing to air pollution. This has become a serious environmental concern. A new Noida expressway is planned to ease traffic congestion expected to arise from increased vehicular movement due to the upcoming Noida International Airport in 2024. It will be a 32 km route constructed along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to benefit commuters. The Noida authority has urged the UP government to declare a 30 km stretch of the Yamuna Pushta Road, spanning from Sector 94 near the Delhi border at Kalindi Kunj barrage to Sector 150, as a national highway. The stretch runs parallel to the Noida Expressway and is linked to the Yamuna Expressway near Pari Chowk. The 30 km stretch is proposed to be developed as a new expressway to accommodate the expected surge in traffic due to the increasing corporate presence and the upcoming Noida International Airport, scheduled to start its operations in April next year. In a letter to the principal department of the Public Works Department (PWD), the Noida Authority emphasized that once the road is given the status of a national highway, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) can take responsibility for constructing the road, which currently remains underutilized due to its poor condition.
Noida-Greater Noida Expressway-
The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is a six-lane expressway connecting Noida, Uttar Pradesh, an industrial suburb of Delhi to Greater Noida, a new suburb. This expressway is under expansion to Yamuna Expressway Economic Zone, Noida International Airport (Jewar airport) and Aviation Hub proposed to be constructed along the Yamuna Expressway (Taj Expressway). The expressway is 24.53 km (15.24 mi) long, built at a cost of ₹400 Crore to relieve the old Delhi-Agra national highway (NH-2) which was already congested and ran through the heart of cities like Faridabad, Ballabhgarh and Palwal.

UER 3 or UER 4 should be planned between Alipur (ending point of UER2) and Raj Nagar Extention so that people from Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida are able to reach Dwarka, Gurugaon etc. without entering Delhi.
