    I love trading inside the ROTH IRA and not having to worry about any taxes or wash sales or any of that crap that I have to do inside my standard brokerage account. Just gotta be careful in the ROTH IRA and not get too degenerate, if you lose the money in there it's hard to build it back up because of the yearly limit that you can put in which is $6,500 now I believe.

    • @alrocky
      @alrocky 8 місяців тому

      For most people who contribute to Roth 401(k), the company match goes toward their traditional 401(k) balance. If you contribute to Roth 401(k) and if your company match goes toward Roth 401(k), you will pay the tax on that company Roth 401(k) match, so there is inherent advantage or "free lunch" here.

    I just opened a ROTH IRA accoutn today and I need some tips as a beginner on which stock index, bond index, and intl index funds to invest? Thank you Brian for giving us viewers hope in this difficult times. I just turned 38 and may have started a little late but I really want to get serious in investing for my retirement.

      Consider tax efficient investment like S&P 500 index fund or ETF as your core or majority investment.

      Contribute to traditional IRA and then convert to Roth IRA. There's a tax caveat if you have traditional IRA from years ago.

    This is very informative. You explained this better than Human Resources. Can you please do a video on ESOP. I have the 401K but my employer offers ESOP after 3 years invested. I work for a trucking company. Thanks so much Brian. I’ve been a fan of yours since 2020 during the Child Tax Credit. 😊

    This is an unlikely hypothetical but what if I contribute the max amount at the beginning of the year and then sometime during the year your income goes above the limit unexpectedly; such as winning the lottery, getting lucky in stocks or crypto, or a pay raise at your job? What are the tax implications regarding the money contributed that year? (A hypothetical problem I would like to have.)

    Is there much difference between this and a Roth 401k?
    My employer has a Roth investment option so I do that vs. the traditional 401k.

      Roth IRA started I believe in 1998. Max contribution was 2k back then also.
      Roth 401k started 2006.

    • @f430ferrari5
      @f430ferrari5 7 місяців тому

      @@jbferrer3 sure it does make sense. Just Google. You can open up one with Vanguard and another with Fidelity. Just don’t exceed the max contribution for any one year.
