Been putting into two different ones, one in my wife’s name and one in mine since we were 25. Do it monthly just like a bill. Tell ourselves it’s non negotiable just like a mortgage payment.
Hi Brian thanks for this video! Growing up I had little to no financial literacy taught to me, so having this information so accessible is truly a gift to so many! Have a great day!
@@clearvaluetax9382you should have a series of financial literacy videos for those of us who were never shown this. I’m sure your views will skyrocket.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1,000000 net worth.
Same here, I believe the Bitcoin ETFs approval will be life changing opportunity for us, with my current portfolio of $108,000 from my investments with my personal financial advisor i totally agree with you
Thank you for another great video, Brian. I opened a Roth IRA for each of my kids to motivate them to start young. They already have 401k's going, but wanted to find a video to explain it better. Can you imagine my happiness when I saw that you had just made this video!
Very simple to understand, thank you for directing us into the best financial knowledge without paying you. May God bless you more. As always, our gratitude for having honest advisor
You are very honest person. God will reward you and your family. I have already knew about Roth IRA because I have been investing for more than 30 years. As soon as Senator Roth had introduced this retirement vehicle, I have started investing. Too bad they don’t teach finances in schools here. In other countries they do and many people are able to retire comfortably. Take care.
I love trading inside the ROTH IRA and not having to worry about any taxes or wash sales or any of that crap that I have to do inside my standard brokerage account. Just gotta be careful in the ROTH IRA and not get too degenerate, if you lose the money in there it's hard to build it back up because of the yearly limit that you can put in which is $6,500 now I believe.
Very well explained! That’s exactly what I do - my employer matches 125% up to 6% of my salary, and that’s how much I contribute to 401(k). And then, every Friday I invest $50 into 4 different ETFs in my Roth IRA through Fidelity! Everything is automated and I don’t have to think about it 😅
@@ashimasirpal2602 Yes, I picked 4 ETFs(VOO, IVV, VUG, IBIT) but the investing part is automated. It's only $50 every week that I would've spent on something else anyways lol

I JUST watched your 401k vs Roth IRA video a few minutes ( I saw it last year, too.) I'm still waiting on that Backdoor Roth IRA video for people that make over the income threshold/limitation🤫. When will you make it?
Yes, PLEASE make this video. I was just looking for it. I have not been able to contribute to my Roth IRA for 20 years because of the limitations. I never thought I’d be an allowed to do it again unless I made significantly less money.
Great explanation! I’m going to start converting as much as I can each year. From 401k to ROTH. Sadly I just figured this out at over 60 years old. Better late than never!
I switched to a Roth IRA in 1998. I was never a high income earner, but a good saver. I sure made the right decision! Now that I am in RMD land, it sure nice not to have the RMD requirement on this money. I know you know this, Brian, but maybe your viewers would like confirmation from a currently alive retired person.

Im a carpenter and pay check too pay check is rough made bad money decisions been in the hole had money saved had too use it i subscribed because i think i can learn alot from you thank you man ill start mine up asap probably after the new year when the world isnt so busy
Great information I just opened my Roth IRA account with Robinhood yesterday before April 30 and they are giving me 3% march by staying with them for five years and then for being a gold member for at least one year I get to keep the 3% match, which is awesome I’m 23 years old so I hope that when I retire It will be awesome to have all the money there.
Thanks Brian. This was good timing. I have been putting 5% into my 401k for the company match (unable to do more at this time) but my company actually offers the same match on Roth contributions, so I am switching my contributions over to that starting today
For most people who contribute to Roth 401(k), the company match goes toward their traditional 401(k) balance. If you contribute to Roth 401(k) and if your company match goes toward Roth 401(k), you will pay the tax on that company Roth 401(k) match, so there is inherent advantage or "free lunch" here.
Totally agree. My wife and I are doing max 401k and max Roth every year. Will do backdoor once we hit the income limit. with employers match, we put $80k+/yr.
I appreciate your content, and I wish I had the foresight to seek out alternative knowledge sources when I was younger with fewer responsibilities. Better late than never.
