I have a smaller one I got on clearance at orschleans $30 in summer It's been set up all year round for 3years now and just got it's first rip thanks to children, but duct tape fixed it right up! I love mine!
I’d love to see a follow up video Granny! We have high winds here too and I’ve never been able to keep the wind from ripping up grill covers etc. So watching your videos are very helpful to us for test runs
That's brilliant, & now you don't need to do a Workout today. 🤗 I'd put a Collapsible Picnic table inside it, & some plastic shelving to stand ontop of the table, then you can store spare Trays, Pots, & Compost underneath theTable, & use the Table as a seed workbench. Looking forwards to seeing what you grow in there. Maybe a Dog Treat Tree. 👍 TFS AG, & take care too everyone. ❤🙂🐶
My dog always supervised when I was cutting out sewing patterns on the floor. Her paws were always where the scissors needed to be! Teddy is "helping". You are brave to do this on video. If I were to try, the video would be banned for overuse of adult language.
I LOVE this! You are so down-to-earth. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I am very tired of some prepping channels (who shall remain nameless) always talking about how the seniors are going to freeze, die without meds, and have to be carried if SHTF. I am not strong, am chronically ill, but I am the one prepping for everyone: GRANNY POWER!
You're such an encouraging person and down to earth! I'm an American living in rural South Australia and you inspire me! You speak life! May the Lord Jesus be your peace and provision!
I am 77, and I just put mine together on a lot. The thing about it is just take your time, and since I am always building something it went well. Great video, and the only thing about this one is you have to build shelves.
Great job Alaska Granny, now I know I can put this kind up by myself. I originally bought a 6x8 with a million pieces and ended up selling it on Market place but I think this one I can handle. I also like the fact that I can take it down for winter. Thank you so much for the video!!
I had a similar tent for sprouting plants, I had to use sand bags on the edges to hold it in place because of the wind. I lost that tent when a huge oak tree flattened my garage in 2014
You did way better than I would have. At least you looked at the directions. I usually open the box, throw the directions out, then proceed to mess up! HA!
dig a little trench around the 3 non door sides. Drop the excess cover length into the trench then refill trench & pack soil tightly back down. Helps to stop wind getting under the cover & lifting greenhouse up & away.
So glad. You made a great mistake for me. I watched another video that made it look so simple that if I hadn't watched you put the door opening on the wrong end, I'd would not have understood that, from the first video I watched. I'm just at that point with just the frame situated, so I'm sincerely grateful for your example, so I don't have to go through that myself right now. 🌵🤠👍
Mine was also from China, I had to put mine together and I ordered mine with green cloth but it didn’t come like that🥴 was supose to be 10x10 but only fits over 1 3x7 bed . Glad you got what you ordered and it wasn’t a complete disappointment.
@@ChristopherHauser-58 Mine did not come with shelves, but I added a bench, and used grow bags. I made several videos about the greenhouse. Here is a link to an update so you can see how I use the grow bags. ua-cam.com/video/ji1oqbsOZE8/v-deo.html
We did not have good luck with those. Have had several of them. This year we are using the shelves only for hardening off seedlings. The plastic we have used over nights with frost. Also, hardening off in them burns seedlings. The wind knocked plants over on one once. Some may have success with them, but we didn't. We use our breezeway to winter sow in and it works better.
That same greenhouse from Amazon Canada is $374.54. More than *TWICE* the price!!! Somebody's getting gouged!! Thanks for the video, though - it looks like a very useful item!
Looks like a good greenhouse. Now all you need is some shelves to put you plants on. I would suggest non-metal. I raised most of the plants in my greenhouse in Oklahoma for the garden. Put most of my potatoes in grow bags. They are now about waist high and doing very good. A whole lot easier to keep the weeds out and to harvest later.
I bought my son a geodesic play dome that he never plays with. I ended up converting it into a small greenhouse. It cost $500 but it’s finally getting some use. 😂
@@mitch5077 it is a dome but not a perfect dome. It’s made up of triangles like those geodesic shelters. It’s pretty strong with thick powder coated steel. I just took a small section out for a doorway and wrapped it in plastic sheeting. I almost gave it away until I thought of a greenhouse. Is just under 6 feet tall so the wind doesn’t affect it much.
@@mitch5077 exactly. We did too. Anything that we could climb and weave in and out of we called a jungle gym. I wish I could still play like that. All that energy we had as kids was amazing. Nowadays kids spend all their energy on computers. Lol
You made me laugh today thank you dullest knife in Alaska 😂😂😂😂😂 those dollar tree knives are dull I bought 3 of them a while back about the only thing no use them for is cutting up hotdogs for my dog once in a while. Then your like I have to untangle my dog 😂 how can anyone get stuck under it and not get out from under it.. anyway have a great day. Take good care of yourself and Teddy
@@AlaskaGranny your welcome. Teddy is adorable nothing better than having man's best friend with you wherever you go. I couldn't ever be without mine. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your greenhouse. Take good care stay safe.
I lost my little greenhouse to the wind...hopefully that won't happen to yours. Nice job putting it up. It looks just the right size for setting up seed sprouting. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching your use of it. :-D
That would be nice to keep the deer from my veggies/plants but the wind is a huge concern. You should get little Teddy a sport dog collar. That way he can be untied and free but you would have a handheld controller to "beep" him back to you or "shock" him if he's being stubborn. My dogs only had to be shocked once, now they come running back when they hear the "beep". My older deaf dog can't hear the beep so his collar has a "vibrate" mode. Nice video... thanks! Teddy's cute!
That may be something to consider. He has become tangled a few times, and dashes off when he senses the opportunity to escape and run free. Reminds me of Charlotte's Web when Wilbur runs free!!
@@AlaskaGranny Best thing I ever got for my dogs because now we can hike and have fun but they come back when I "beep". Teddy looks like he would listen.
