My friend Judy and I took a trip to Long Beach for the weekend. It's a quick drive down from Los Angeles, but I've never done it before. I also didn't realize we were going at the busiest time of the year. The Grand Prix of Long Beach was going on.
Things to do in Long Beach:
-Spend as much time as you can at the beach.
-Walk through some neighborhoods.
-Find nice restaurants in the downtown area.
-Visit the Queen Mary.
-Watch the Long Beach Grand Prix (if you happen to go on the right weekend).

@Road Trip Randy- I'm glad you like Long Beach. I grew up there and was raised there. I moved out temporarily for work but will be back in LA/ Long Beach in no time. The way you describe Long Beach is point on. It's a big city feel with relaxation to it. I think that is what make Long Beach special in LA because you have options of nightlife and at the same time, there is so much activities to do there.
Nice video. I'm strongly considering Long Beach as a moving destination. Definitely my vibe.
I'm from the Chicago area all my life, been to the Grand Prix 3 times and love going there.

Nice ! Love Long Beach. My wife and I lived there in 1977 and back then you could go aboard the Queen Mary just to eat in the restaurants and not have to pay an admission fee. That''s changed :)

I remember watching that race and walking down the beach while it happened. And it was the same race.
I grew up in LB. Glad you liked it. I’ve never really been to the Grand Prix but I could hear the race cars as far as signal hill which is a few miles north.

Helpful tip. Go around the city for a while. The ghetto streets are seriously connected to the nice areas. Seal Beach and Signal Hill are ideal and clean places to live. Try to avoid the Eastside area unless you like seeing crips everywhere.

I know this comment is old but if I were you I would avoid north Long Beach. Unless you are on a tight budget.

You've seen DTLBC, that's a pretty cool part of town but, in some other areas, not near the beach, you get shot for no good reason lol

Typical orange county just another mall but with the Morocco architecture theme it makes it seem as if it's out of this world. They have a big Ferris wheel which is the main attraction of the mall!!

It feels weird seeing my city on UA-cam
I'm not going to tell anyone how old I am, but I was there when the Queen Mary was at the end of her final voyage to Long Beach. After that, The Pike, amusement park across the bay from the Queen Mary, was renamed Queens Park, and I think you can guess why....Uhhh, that was the actual Pike with roller coasters and other rides, not the current one that is decor only.

It's on the 5 (I-5) near the intersection with 405. Check it out, it's one of the newest malls in LA!
It's in orange county, I work not that far from there. It's over hyped. There are better malls to visit that are still in LA county for sure.
I live in Long Beach, looks nice but don't 't stray to far from dwntwn, violent city, good place to get mugged or killed.

Michigan I surfed new buffalo check out my friends surf shop. Third coast surf shop. I surfed in snow and cold loved it, I love Michigan and north Indiana it’s not like South Indian, Kentucky and Carolina. I felt at home in Michigan, check out Downey ca.
