- Hitchhikers beware! RuPaul is behind the wheel, and picking up passengers on the streets of Hollywood! RuPaul Drives... is the brand-new webseries produced by World of Wonder. And it's about to get REAL. "Everyone in LA needs a lift, spiritually and physically," said the Supermodel of the World. "From drag racing to a leisure drive, I always enjoy being behind the wheel." The concept is simple: Every episode RuPaul will chauffeur a special guest vagabond with no clear destination in sight. These drifters paint the town with she-larious moments, sprinkled with bite size gems of RuPaul's wisdom. In the second episode, Ru picks up Henry Rollins, lead singer of Black Flag, and takes him to go pick up some art!

I've realized lately...Henry Rollins and I are quite similar in life. Let people do what makes them happy, and we accept anything and everything. We're lone wolves, true punk rockers who don't give a fuck about anything except making the world a better place. We're both angry guys who have learned to manage our insurmountable amount of anger inside of us, and we use it to power our mission, our motive.
I have Punk Rock and Henry Rollins to thank for all this. I've always been a hard-ass, punk rock lone wolf, but I balanced out my flaws and became a much happier and positive person thanks to Punk Rock, Post Hardcore, and Henry Rollins.

While I didn't love his Black Flag days, I have been seriously enamored of Henry Rollins speaking engagements. I find myself on UA-cam, in awe of his brilliance, watching WAY too many hours of his lectures and spoken word performances. Seeing Henry live is on my Bucket List -- actually getting a chance to converse with him would push me over the edge! :-)

I liked the comparisons and the picturesque portrayal of what a relationship feels like. I quite understand where they're both coming from, yet I'm quite the opposite. I tap into the giving myself even at the cost of burning out. It's somewhat scary and yet the pain or the gain can still feel very liberating. Crash and burn, you know? You might not have a chance to do it again there where you wanted to.

Cool that the car sets off from outside the WOW buidling on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and N. Cherokee Ave in Hollywood, which is where The Masque was located, or, in fact, kind of still is, because it's the basement of the WOW building and the grafitti is still on the walls. That black gate to the left with the red writing now blocks the alleyway that led to the entrance to the club. You can see it even more clearly in the final shot. The ghost of early LA punk becomes thick ectoplasm at this exact spot.

Here's my advice for those feeling stuck in the celebrity rosy glass prison: Take all the money you've made and are capable of making and invest in cybernetic inventions until you can make yourself into an armored superstrong being with laser eyes, wrist rockets, and jump jets. Then, go to Japan and fight crime.
