  • Measure soluble salts on surfaces significantly faster with the new Elcometer 130 Soluble Salt Profiler, which produces values equivalent to the Bresle method in accordance with ISO 8502-9.
    The Elcometer 130 SSP is a portable, hand-held salt contamination meter which accurately and reliably measures 4 Bresle equivalent readings in 2 minutes - more than 4 times faster than the Bresle patch test.
    Measuring soluble salts is now more accurate, easier and faster than ever before thanks to the new Elcometer 130 SSP.
    Key features of this soluble salt meter include:
    • Bresle equivalent readings in accordance with ISO 8502-9.
    • Four times faster than Bresle Patches
    • 2D and 3D salt density profiles providing the peak salt concentration and average reading.
    • Store up to 3,500 sets of readings or transfer data via Bluetooth® or USB to ElcoMaster® for PC or mobile devices or your own inspection app for instant report generation.
    • Rugged and reliable, ideal for use in the field or the laboratory.
    Bresle Test Equivalent
    Side by side testing under laboratory conditions shows that the Elcometer 130 SSP is equivalent to the Bresle Patch Method in accordance with ISO 8502-9.

    HI, My query regarding the application of sample water on the test paper, in your video it is showing that the sampling water applied on the test paper outside and then place the paper on substrate..
    but in may videos i saw ,first we put the sample paper on substrate and then apply water on it.
    which is the correct way????

      Thank you for your comment.
      We recommend adding the water to the filter paper first, as shown in the video and detailed in the Elcometer 130SSP instruction book, as this gives you more control, allowing you to ensure the water is evenly spread across the filter paper before applying it to the substrate. This also means your filter paper only has to be on the substrate for the required 2 minutes, ensuring accurate and repeatable extraction times.

    Hi my query, is any calibration required prior to use elcometer 130. Like which we do for elcometer 456 prior to take DFT’s. If there is calibration of elcometer 130 instrument please provide ASAP. Thanks

      Thank you for your comment.
      The Elcometer 130 is factory calibrated. Whilst the calibration can not be adjusted by the user, the user can verify the accuracy of the gauge calibration in the field periodically using the optional Calibration Verification Tile.

    Hello there, my query is:
    Elcometer 130 = Soluble salts and ions detection
    Elcometer 130 SSP = Only Soluble salts detection
    Is my understanding is correct? then what about Elcometer 138?
    And does this method (Elcometer 130) comply with ISO 8502-6 & ISO 8502-9?
    I did a sample test on blast cleaned surface (Sa 2.5). I got the result as follows:
    Elcometer 138 = 54mg/m2 (5.4 ug/cm2)
    Elcometer 130 = 15mg/m2 (1.5 ug/cm2)
    As per project specification (ISO8502-6/9) requirement Soluble salt conductivity

      Hi,
      The Elcometer 130 and 130SSP both measure all soluble salts, but the 130SSP also measures its density whereas the standard 130 does not.

    Hello there, I have another query:
    In term of use Elcometer 130 SSP and complies to ISO-8502-6 & 9, we got the instruction from one senior personnel as follows;
    "Test sample solution shall follow with 3ml deionized water by bresle patch method (As per ISO 8502-6) and test result shall be verified by Elcometer 130 SSP." So, My query is how to check/determine this tested solution 3ml by Elcometer 130SSP? Appreciate your detailed information.

    Thank you Elcometer! One question please, for IMO PSPC, how could I convert the conductivity to NaCl equivalence?

    • @ElcometerOfficialChannel
      @ElcometerOfficialChannel  3 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment.
      When using the Elcometer 130SSP in Elcometer 130 Mode, the gauge is calibrated for sodium chloride, as used in the IMO PSPC standard.

    Please advise can we use this instrument without magnetic disc.

      @ElcometerOfficialChannel  4 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment.
      Yes, you can use the Elcometer 130 SSP without the magnetic disc. The disc helps make it easier to move the filter paper without contamination, and helps the filter paper retain water.

      Thank you for your question regarding the Elcometer 130SSP, Rajiv.
      It measures all soluble salts on the surface, not just chlorides.

    Can this gauge be changed into us/cm rather than ug/cm??

      Thank you for your question regarding the Elcometer 130.
      The Elcometer 130 Salt Contamination Meter (Model T) and the Elcometer 130 SSP both have a choice of measurement units, depending on the measurement mode selected.
      If you are in Cleanliness mode you can measure in µg/cm2 and mg/m2.
      If you are in Conductivity mode you can measure in µS/cm, mS/cm, ppm, or % Salinity.
      So to answer your question, yes you can measure in µS/cm.
      Thank you once again.
      Kind regards, Elcometer e-Media Team.

      @@ElcometerOfficialChannel what's different between used clean mode and contaminant mode ? when using cleanliness mode and the result will show mg/m2. and contaminant mode will show the result with us/cm2. so which mode need to selected for salt test ? Thanks.

    • @ElcometerOfficialChannel
      @ElcometerOfficialChannel  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your question.
      There is a Cleanliness mode which measures salt content in µg/cm² or mg/m², and a Conductivity mode which measures the conductivity of the salt content in the water in µS/cm, mS/cm, or ppm.
      All modes in the Elcometer 130 are valid tests for salts, expressed in different units of measurement. The choice of mode you use depends on the job specification you are working to.
