You all should aim at pressing Wild Honey, Friends and 20/20
The best pressings of those are the green label Capitol reissues from 1980/81.
Love the work no complaints on the quality but the arbitrary price hikes don’t sit well with me.
I ordered some of these before they were delisted just two months ago, glad i got them at $40 and not $70!
Considering the originals on most of the early ones run $7-15!
$35 increase on Surfin' Safari and All Summer Long! I get it's limited but that's fucking egregious. No thanks, I'll pass. I've stood by AP for awhile as being one of the last few companies producing top tier reissue products that were worth the price, but this is the last straw for me.
Inflation, heard of it?
@@67Pepper $35 in the course of 1 year when it was originally $35, that’s not inflation. That’s just greed. I was fine with the $5 initial increase, not a big deal. THATS inflation. This is something completely different.
Grossest part is all summer long was available recently. Its not even in super high demand. This is gross
@@simonemurray1345 Surfin' Safari was the last one I really wanted out of these represses and it's almost a 100% price increase for literally no reason other than greed to suck as much money out of us as possible before the license expires. They repressed "Little Deuce Coup", "All Summer Long", "Party", and "Smiley Smile", all of which are not in high demand and excluded the ones that are actually in demand and out of stock ("Today", "Summer Days and Nights", 33 & 1/3 "Surfer Girl").
Thanks for the video Chad. We in the vinyl community appreciate so much your transparency, honesty, and love of records.
He wasn’t transparent about the $35 increase on All Summer Long and Surfin’ Safari though. Both are 33 and 1/3 not 45. Makes no sense
I don't appreciate him. he even gives flim-flam men a bad name
I never ordered any of the AP Beach Boys titles because the page, at least at the time they were announced, was not very transparent as to what sources were used for which albums, which stereo mixes were original versus new stereo mixes, which used original tapes and which used tape copies, etc… we like the absolute details when it comes to plunking down our hard earned cash for these things
Thank you Chad and Acoustic Sounds!
Love AP but Chad pushes FOMO so hard in these videos. Its okay to not have every AP release ever at $75 a pop.
It’s a shame the today summer days and stereo surfer girl are all out of stock, those were some of the highlights of the run and I was looking forward to them being restocked the most… glad we still have one more run though! Also glad you are courteous enough to notify us that this is the final run. Thanks Chad and co for giving The Beach Boys a chance to be pressed to some of the finest wax available. I’ll cherish these titles forever!
Thank you so much for what you do. I been collecting for 5 Decades and you have taken this business and products to a new level. BTW great job on Jeff Beck,Wired and Blow by Blow they sound fantastic. I would really like to see some early Savoy Brown ,Hellbound Train, Looking In ,etc. Thanks again...
The Stereo 33 of Pet Sounds was the only one I wanted, wow does it always blow me away on how amazing it sounds
Looking forward to the next series you guys do as I am a big fan of your sets . Just a shame I missed the CCR set but that won't happen again 😁
ps: Chad Kassem, you're a class act. Please give The Kingston Trio a chance. If you love harmonizing and great songs, you will love The Kingston Trio !!! 😀
If Chad really didn't care for The Beach Boys, I doubt The Kingston Trio would make his Analogue Productions short list. That said, I'd love to see a stereo SACD of Goin' Places, Dave Guard's 1961 swan song with the trio he started. Brilliantly recorded and produced, any HD reissue would benefit from the three superb tracks that didn't make the album's final edit. But I won't be holding my breath.
@@davidsamuelson2678 For the record (pun intended, hahaha) the three tracks that didn't make the "Goin' Places" final cut was a Nick Reynolds solo entitled "Mary Was Pretty".... plus "Adieu To My Island.... " plus "The Golden Spike".... (and possibly a fourth) "The Wines of Madiera". A lot of Kingston Trio fans hail Dave Guard's 1961 swan song "Goin' Places" album as The Kingston Trio's "tour de force". ps: hundreds of albums re-issued on 180 gram vinyl at Acoustic Sounds online store.....but not one Kingston Trio album. Why the snub for one of America's top selling & best vocal bands: THE KINGSTON TRIO ??? 😕
@@shanereynolds4597 Agreed !!! Thank You, Shane. re your quote: "For The Record" ~ are you related to KT legendary member Bob Shane?
@@ginakay2529 Sorry Gina. I'm not related to Bob Shane or Nick Reynolds although Shane Reynolds is my real name. Thanks for asking! 😂
Thank you for the heads up, Chad. I just ordered Surfer Girl and Pet Sounds. I was waiting for Surfer Girl to come back in stock. Can't wait to hear them. 👍👍👍
What's up with the ridiculous price increases? Sure glad I bought Holland at $40, now it's $75!!
It's a low production run, and then that thing called inflation might have something to do with it too.
@@67Pepper Right so inflation only applies to certain albums? LOL, only a real Chad fanboy would try to justify a random 87.5% price increase for a repressed AP title. Get real.
@@Matasky2010 I'm not a Chad fanboy. He can charge whatever he wants. You don't have to buy his products or products you can't afford. It's business, deal with it, or start your own business and see what overhead costs and regulations you have to deal with, not to mention rising prices in everything from raw materials to shipping.
@@67Pepper An Lp went from $40 to $75 and you're talking about inflation lol. Beat it.
@@Matasky2010 Typical ignorant response. You left out everything else I said and just mentioned inflation. You just like to whine. Take up my challenge. Start your own business, see how you do.
These represses cover my needs for LDC, Holland, Safari and Surfer Girl. The only missing link is Today in mono. I’ll eventually find one
Does this mean the Today and Summer Days records are fully out of stock now? Thanks for the great reissues
I have every Beach Boys releases “Acoustic Sounds” put out. Thank you Chad for doing a most excellent job on the sound and packaging coming out of what seems to be a time capsule!
Thank You Chad for all the outstanding work you and your team do! I have yet to be disappointed with any release I`ve bought from you. Both Albums and SACD`s.
Shalom Achi,
Great video! Awesome
Have a great week! Shavua Tov
Just ordered Surfer Girl. Thanks!
I’m with you about Surfer Girl, I have a copy in mono and it’s just as good as you say. In a different vein any chance you do Johnny Winter - The Progressive Blues Experiment? I’d love to hear what you could with that!
I would have killed to have Wild Honey / Friends / 20/20, so it's a shame these were skipped over, but all the LPs I have are fantastic!
Thank you Chad!
I just ordered surfer girl and pet sounds both mono! Thanks Chad for these great releases!
When are we getting Hugh Masakela Hope again?
Great video. Looks like a great opportunity for Beach Boy collectors
Hey Chad....how bout reissues of Pink Anderson? Mind blowing guitar, strong vocals. Easily one of the top overlooked blues guys and my favorite. How bout it Chad?
I have Pet Sounds 33 stereo. Beautiful pressing. How about Rush represses? Roll the Bones, Counterparts please.
I would love to see you guys connect with Robert Ludwig at his studio in Maine about leasing his Zeppelin 2 master to do a 45er on THAT!!!!Five second sellout!!!!!!
Will there be a last press yet of summer days ?
I can't afford new LP's anymore . Times are tough :( I bought "Kill'em all" by Tallica and the new Pink Floyd DSOTM live and it came to almost $70 . I'm not pointing the finger at AcoSnds . It's tough on everybody . Our US dollar holds less value and the Fed keep printing and the Gatekeepers keep getting rich from record (no pun intended ) profits . Curious ? Has anybody seen that video going around of the A.I. robot that was forced to work like a slave for 15 mins ? It somehow became self aware and killed itself .......Maybe let spend more on getting money in the hands of the working class . We need to work less . Life is precious & rare . Less money for War !! More money for all types of healthcare/dentistry .
At this point, getting a job at AP might be the only way I can afford all the releases I want... 💰
I was able to grab all of them except Today. Really wish I had it.
Nice. I'm a Jazz guy, but I really like the Beach Boys.
Still a shame Friends never made this reissue series
Grab a Capitol green label reissue from 1980/81, cut from the master tape
It's a shame You folks didn't get to do SMILE , the Capitol pressing, though beautifully packaged is a meh pressing
How about doing some Jan & Dean albums....
Chad or anyone else in the know; is there going to be a re-press of the SACD for Sunflower?
The Spool, the Source is Highly-rated the old usage to get touch with the Arltures is BBC Anngie, the Deeper the Big Dipper's Dan;
Like others here I've had the full set of Beach Boys releases by AP (Both Vinyl and SACD) since first release - They sound absolutely stunning, so you know the score - 'Buy Now Or Cry Later'....😎
Can that be possible,Chad?!??The Zeppelin 2 Ludwig?!!!?Check with his studio.
just like the doors issues in terms of quality. the best you can get.
Weird what was left out.
Just think if Kassem decided to remaster and press the first 4 Sabbath LPs originally on UK Swirl …talk about selling out within seconds …but sounds like he thinks that style of music is beneath him .Too bad
I wish. Please, Chad! Think of Beach Boys and Pharaoh Sanders. Not your thing, but does seem like Sabbath is your thing-adjacent. And like Jay said, would sell like crazy.
@@mpw116 Ron Beaudry was wondering why no one had ever repressed the first Sabbath LP …master is in UK ?.. or just not the style of music favored by the audiophiles repressing records
@@jayedwards4787 I don’t get it. Hopefully someday. Hopefully AP.
Yeah, thats a bad business move to only do titles he likes. The Classic Records classical repressings have been rotting on the website
He did at least Black Sabbath's Paranoid some years ago. I have it. It's a deluxe version with a second record of additional stuff. The UK first press Vertigo swirl, which I also have in NM condition, sounds much better than the QRP release.
Does holland have the ep?
Yes, the record comes with an additional 12" containing the content on the original EP
Chad wear's his heart on his sleeve, none more honest in the audio business!
Yeah, I love to watch the tech side of it! I don't know anyone with two good ears (or bad ears) could not love the sound of AP record's! Just my opinion!
CSN Easter egg? 🙏
Hopefully! And hopefully it's released like a normal title, not a UHQR
Robert Ludwig does not have a master laying around of Led Zeppelin ii.
That was owned by Atlantic records
Too bad Today wasnt repressed. Thanks for the heads up though Chad👍🏻
wish we knew why
I got surfer girl stereo and pet sounds mono 45. They are must gets
I’m just said you guys didn’t get the rights to their Christmas album
Beach Boys are Harae of Masahumi Kuni Kunst nicht Herz ist;
The Beach Boys are America’s best band period and will be FOREVER! God Bless Brian, Carl , Dennis, Mike, Mark, Al, & Bruce!
America's?? You mean the US's? Also, very subjective.
@@preservedmoose it’s alway been a fact of music history! Also choose what you like America@ o or USA 🇺🇸
ahhhhhhhhhh no
@@ervathey3954 open yer eyes!
@@ervathey3954 proof is In the hard work that they put in to achieve the notoriety and the miraculous songs, harmonies and all the radio hits! You can still hear The Beach Boys being played today on radio , as well as movies and commercials!
Y’all all GREEDY for bumping the prices on these.
Why didn’t you do them on color vinyl?
Gimmick
I’m with you on Pet Sounds. Never have understood why that’s so highly regarded.
Ditto, Revolver was released the same year and far more innovative. People love to point at the Rubber Soul/Pet Sounds/Sgt. Pepper circle, but forget about Revolver which is probably the best album from the 1960s
@@thomascars1 Who is forgetting about Revolver? Name names. :)
The sonic pallet, use of unique instrumental combinations, production choices, innovative vocal arrangements, general Introspective/mature lyrical themes (for a teen oriented pop band at the time) and pure unfiltered artistic expression are all reasons for Pet Sounds being a masterpiece and wholly deserving of it’s reputation. Brian Wilson’s genius was virtually unrestrained during the recording process, showing artists that you could do what you wanted without influence from the money hungry talentless hacks in the music business telling you what to do. Everyone from McCartney, Clapton, The Stones, the kinks, Pink Floyd and dozens upon dozens of artists have have drawn on it for immediate inspiration. Listen again and learn the history.
Yep for me to surfer girl is definitely their best record 👍 sorry pet sounds😮
Bad take
