I just realised that on the original chart all the black people are marked (they have black fist next to them raised in black power gesture :p ), and Andy is a Cornell graduate :D
I love the attention to detail in the chart (pause at 0:02) -> - Dwight puts himself as the "Original Assistant Regional Manager" above the "Assistant Regional Manager" Jim Halpert. - Darryl and Stanley have brown fists next to their names, you know why. - Oscar has two male symbols (because gay) and Toby has the Star of David next to his name. - Creed Bratton is between " " because he knows that there is a chance that it is not his real name. - Kevin Malone has the Irish shamrock next to his name.
Also, Andy has a person wearing a graduation cap, probably because he's the only one who has graduated from college? or maybe because he never shuts up about it and Dwight considers that to be his only redeeming quality.
Soumitra Saxena Andy also has a silhouette of a guy with a “graduate cap” because he prides himself in graduating from Cornel. This chart is incredibly detailed! Even the menstrual cycles have different moons on them lol.
"Do it. Say it. Now. 5. 4. 3. Say it. 2. 1" Dwight used this exact method to buy Andy's car cheap. He must think this method is super effective in fools, but forgot Michael is a secret genius
I like how throughout the show they dont forget about Devon. Like in the last episode dwight rehired him and the emergency chart has his name crossed out. Nice little touch
The moment Devon is fired and is destroying Michael's coupon he invites everyone in the office for a drink at Poor Richards, everyone except for Creed, Dwight, Angela and Michael. Michael and Creed just get him out of a job, but Devon never liked Dwight or Angela because of reasons. However, is funny how Dwight kinda likes him.
The little details they put in that chart is what makes this show a masterpiece. The board is only showing for seconds but they cared to make it funny even if the audience didn’t notice.
0:02 Lmao holy shit he actually kept the women's menstrual cycles. And it even makes sense because Meredith had her uterus removed and Phyllis is... too old? To get children.
NavidIsANoob the actual chart is online and the intense detail scared me and makes me wonder if he has a copy including everyone on Earth because it wouldn't surprise me. The fact that Meredith had her uterus removed doesn't surprise me either
What I love about the original chart is this: 1. The cross through Devon. The fact it has Andy Bernard means that Dwight really likes showing who has been eliminated 2. Phyllis and Stanley report to Andy, but not Dwight who was moved down from Assistant Regional Manager when Jim became the new Assistant. 3. Also Dwight put himself above knowingly he report to either Andy directly or to Jim indirectly 4. Creed's name is in speech marks 5. The pictures and symbols next to each person, so bad 6. There is also a crossed out name in the account team In the emergency disaster mode: 1. He eliminates Andy 2. All the warehouse staff are under lockdown
A little detail I don't think anyone considered: Earlier in the episode, Dwight is quite easily able to scam Andy into selling him an X-Terra so that he can flip it for profit. As is well-established in the show, Dwight is consistently one of the best (and usually _the_ best) salesmen in the Scranton branch, whereas Andy is one of the most pathetic. So why isn't Dwight able to convince Michael so easily? Well, if there was ever a better salesman in Scranton than Dwight, it's Michael Scott. He sees right through Dwight's tricks, and knows better than to agree to his proposition. No point to this comment, I just thought it was a nice little touch that I don't think very many people picked up on.
I thought of the same thing when Dwight started persuading him by saying “do it. don’t think. Say it.” it’s the same method he used on andy but it didn’t work on Michael because as you said he saw right through it. I love that detail.
Andy is genuinely a doofus that’s almost the textbook definition of “yes man”. Michael may be a idiot, but he’s also a people pleaser that hates confrontation. Dwight’s been reading The Art of War to get to this level of “know your enemy”
I love that Dwight thinks that if Michael gave him authority he would be able to keep it game of thrones style. Like this isn't a company with positions and legal documents.
