- I show you IBM notebooks' issues such as:
-Does not power up
-Power up but the image is very strange
-Power up but couple minutes later the picture is black
The problem is the South bridge or VGA chip!

I bought a new universal charger for my laptop i plugged in but forgot to check its voltage it was on 24volts output. suddenly my laptop froze and now i dont start it shows only green current and battery lite. when i start it shows me no disply four lites blink then two remain on. processor fan dvd lan everything has power. please tell me i am going for a hardware repairer i want him to diagnose the problem if you tell me..
i have the same problem in my laptop starts late and just see few start up screen then wen it goes in to windows it trys but it cant stays in a black screen for a long time sometimes it has distortion in the lcd graphics

I turn my T40 on today it didn't turn on any more. lights came on for few seconds it was working great week ago. i brought this laptop used about 5 years ago.it was great laptop for playing old dos games. oh well things cant last for ever. mybe i find another one sometime. I have upgrade to X230T. few weeks ago
I have the r50 with a problem with the gpu (1 long beep, 2 short.) Anyway the first time I just opened the laptop and applied a little preassure on the gpu and i hit the power button. It booted right up. Then i proceeded to dissasemble it carefully taking pictures and when i got the mobo out I did a reflow at 350c for 2 min. After it cooled down with the help of the pictures i reassembled it and when I pressed the power button I got the green power led on, no image on screen, no beeps and 100% cpu fan duty. I removed the two ram sticks and power it again. As i expected i heard a short beep folowed by a pause and then 3 short beeps, a pause and finaly another short beep. That means that the mobo works. Does anyone know whats the issue?
i have lenovo l412 , when i power up then power led glow and blink many time , some one told me that cmos battery issue , i changed cmos battery but again same situation is there, what i do please help me friends.
First thing, he should of taken out the heat sink an cpu. An apply thermal compound. I bet you that Lenovo will boot to bios. Lenovo m b are hard to kill. I just apply thermal compound to my 3 Lenovo's. Now they run like new. Have T9400 on one. Runs 2.53 gigs real cool.
i have a r51, but when i boot it, it stays on the ibm screen and does not do anything
