I've heard stories of children being taken up in AK. Parents would tell their children, "Don't go to the whistles, don't go into the woods alone.". My parents always told me about the boogie man, lol. I played in the woods all the time growing up, but it was all farm land back then. I was always climbing trees.
On a serious note, it's a good possibility that child was taken and killed, probably eaten. That's so sad and terrifying!!
