Thank you for the great information. Do you have a video explaining the "promotional types" when completing the application through Awin for Etsy Affiliate program?
hi madam, i have a question. can i create a custom affilate link directly to etsy homepage? so that my customer makes a purchase at any stores of his choice, and i get paid. does this work? please let me know.
Any link that goes to any page on Etsy will give you credit for all sales, you don’t have to link directly to one listing. I think you can do a link directly to Etsy and that should work, but all of the links give you credit for anything anyone buys.
Hi Kara, how would I grab the etsy listing photos for my blog? I can't imagine just copying it from the shop. i must be missing something. will it be in the my creative section. thanks for your help
There are rules about using the photos, so you should check on that. You can ask people if you can use their photos, or just link to the items. Sometimes the listing link will bring up the photos.
Kara thank you for the info, this was super helpful! A quick question - I'm trying to build my account and I have my own website where I would like to post affiliate links, however it's asking for a tax document!! I don't have that. I haven't paid for a Tax ID. It's just my personal website! What should I do there? Thanks!
If you're doing business and selling products then you should have some kind of tax license if your location requires it. If it's the affiliate company that's asking for a tax ID that could be your SS# if you're in the US.
Hello Kara That's such a valuable video, but could you suggest to me if I can use Pinterest pins to drive to a landing page for the Etsy products, if you are familiar with Pinterest, could you also suggest to me if I can use the direct links to Etsy page from Pinterest pins. Thanks.
There's no reason to use a landing page, you can pin directly to the Etsy listings. Etsy's catalog is on Pinterest, though, so you won't have as much control over how the pins look and are keyworded if you pin directly from Etsy since they'll pick up the listing information directly from Etsy.
When I put an Etsy link on my blog am I allowed to use an image from the listing with the link if i give credit for the image. Of course people click more with the actual image visible. I do not want to violate copyright. Thank you!
I'm not sure about that, since Etsy doesn't own the copyrights, the shop owner would. You could email the Etsy affiliate program reps to see what they say. I would think it's okay since it's considered advertising, but I'm not 100% sure. I usually get permission from people by posting for people to share links if they want me to use their products.
I meant under the link builder tool, where you chose program, is it necessary to choose to Etsy US program if you want etsy affiliate link? @@KaraBuntinTutorials
I was going through the sign up process, Im in Australia and it says "You are signing up to Awin to promote Etsy AU" does this mean I cant promote international products? Most of the stuff I buy and want to recommend comes from overseas (mainly USA & UK). Thank you :)
I’m not sure how that works. You should probably email the Etsy affiliate people about it if there isn’t any info in a faq there. They actually do respond and are helpful!
@@KaraBuntinTutorialsok thank you Kara. Funny I applied any way and got rejected. They said "Advertiser doesn't work with this publisher type". I haven't got a blog yet but I plan to. I guess maybe they need to see a blog before accepting.
@@earthsoul9454 Awin is for bloggers...You can apply using social media if you apply to Creator Co, which is their other affilaite program for social media promoters.

This is a very valuable video. Thanks so much. But I still don't quite understand. I'm confused by the links. Where do I find products to link? I've signed up with Etsy and Awin. So what links am i allowed to use from what site?
Do you have a blog? Links from Awin are usually for bloggers, so you would put them in blog posts. You can link to any product on Etsy using the Awin link generator or their browser extension app. Check on the Awin website for the Etsy program terms of use, they have some tutorial videos about it, if I remember correctly.
@@KaraBuntinTutorials A sincere thanks for your detailed reply. I am a one week old affiliate marketer and although this has been a confusing process for me I am slowly understanding. So i need a blog. That makes sense. I'm very patient while learning so I will just be doing this step by step. Thank you!
Thank you for your informative video. So if I am correct, Etsy pays a small comission on affiliates only when the link generates a sale on Etsy? If my website sends ten thousand referral links to Etsy but only ten result in sales I am paid a referral comission only on those ten sales? They don't pay for simply sending customers to Etsy through referral links? Is this somewhat accurate?
That's right, but there's a 30-day cookie attached. So as long as someone uses your link to go to Etsy, then buys something in the 30-day period following, you'll get a commission. The exception would be if they use a different account to buy from the one they originally used to click the link, or if they click someone else's affiliate link int he meantime. If that happened the other person would take over the credit for any sales starting from when the customer clicked their link.
This video is INCREDIBLE! Thank you for explaining this so well!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!!! I was so lost haha, I deeply appreciate this video!!

I don’t, i would have to look up what they’re asking. That’s probably just asking where you would be posting links.
Do you have the search analytics in the marketing tab? Is beta and I'm loving it! ❤️
Watch out for that, it’s been beta for 4 years!

Do you have to have a website and be a seller on Etsy to be accepted into their affiliate program?
You can apply for the creator co program, that’s their affiliate program for people who promote their listings on social media.
@@KaraBuntinTutorials thanks..
what happens if we generate the affiliate link under AWIN programme and not ETSY US?
You can’t use any affiliate links on Etsy at all. They’re meant to drive traffic to Etsy, not to drive Etsy traffic somewhere.
