When the government is paying the rent, owners hike up the price of rent because it’s like a guaranteed rent payment for them. The government doesn’t look to pay “market” or “fair” rent price. They’re not paying rent for US citizens, just migrants which leaves the citizens not able to afford the rent. Or with availability to service a town of 20-30k people, when all of a sudden it’s 50-60k people, all of a sudden there’s a lot less places to rent.
That means when you keep having assistance, you won’t want to be able to be on your own to do it for yourself and you’re just keep taking and taken
It means that in a town of 25,000 people, if 15,000 show up over the span of 12 months, who are heavily funded by this current administration (each receiving 1000s of Taxpayer dollars each month to live here, ILLEGALLY), they have to have a place to live. SOME Landlords who know they can get paid on autopilot using government funded programs will gladly choose one of these tenants (who don't add much value to the country other than being a laborer for some billionaire who would also gladly replace an American employee who complains everyday and shows up late for an employee who's grateful and expects very little, respectfully, in return for their labor), over you who might be late every now and then, and call for maintenance for any and everything. Pretty soon, because of the job crisis coming, you won't be able to pay your rent (I pray this isn't the case. I'm just saying hypothetically). They’re paying for whole 4 star hotels to house immigrants…them people ain’t paid a tax dollar in this country. It’s estimated that each family or individual with food and housing plus a cash spending balance each month, is costing the government about 10k a month.

They’ll have a better leg up than most middle to low class Americans to start building wealth most will never see. While Americans get $750 when they’ve lost everything. That’s not enough to even pay rent hardly anywhere in this country.
