- QUICK TIP Setting up Apple HomeKit & Arlo Cameras
After hours and hours of trying myself and calling Arlo support and talking with Apple WOW I got the fix and was able to add my Arlo cameras to my Home HomeKit, I hope you find this video helpful, thanks so much for watching.

Thank you for your video! It was great to see how its done.! I have been trying to set this up for a while... still not there. I have the same cameras and Hub you have, but I hit Homekit setup and it searches forever... Says devices have been detected... but never ends the task... I re-installed the hub into the app... making sure everything is in the same network.. etc etc... but no luck--- I looks like its trying to load something... but nothing changes... If you have any thoughts, I will appreciate them!!! Thank you again for sharing!!!
after I found out how to do it I wanted to share it. I no longer use HomeKit because its been limiting with no support. Sorry I really wish I could help

On mine, there was a QR code, very small QR code on the back where you connect the wires. Hard to see with everything connected. This was just last night 20221215 so things may have changed since originally posted.
So you HAVE to have an Arlo base station or smart hub in order for Arlo to be home kit enabled? Do you pay for Arlo secure?
I don’t pay for arlo secure. Home kit might have changed since this video, I’d check apples home kit website and call Arlo to be sure

Home kit requires a hub, it was an iPad, homepod or updated newer apple TV but that might have changed. You want to automate your home that's why you want home kit right?

I just made Apple TV my hub… still don’t have a clue how to add the Arlo to the HomeKit … the arlos I have are wifi, I don’t have a “base” I’m reading all kinds of stuff and beginning to think these spotlight arlos may not be compatible.
I tried going thru the arlo app, settings, my devices and “add base to HomeKit” option is just not there, because I don’t have a base… thank you for your time.
Looks like arlo isn't compatible now based on this list, see link but I would recommend popping into an apple store, see if they have an expert you can talk to?

Hello I have my arlo pro 3 workin on home kit and iPad but am not able to get Altria working with my home kit. But they are all on my pro 3 base station? Any ideas

Hi Henry, if my instructions don’t work I’m sorry they did for me back then. Since then I’m not on Apple home hub anymore. Have you reached out to Apple support? Or maybe go to an Apple store and speak with an expert. Sorry I’m not able to help with this.

Hello all .. I purchased the bundle with the Arlo Ultra 2, and flood light pro 3 and smarthub.. I spent 2 days trying to get it to connect to homekit. Came across this video and still didnt work( i would still follow his instructions)
I called arlo support for 2hrs and they gave up and just told me to keep trying and call back smh. I almost gave up and sent the stuff back but after cooling myself off for a few hrs. I randomly decided to try again… and it just worked for some reason, didnt try anything different. Now that its working everything runs great on homekit. I think the firmware takes longer to load than it says. Or that service call took a while to reach my smarthub

What in the hell is wrong with Arlo (and Apple)? They couldn't put this in an email/manual/or link ON THE WEBSITE?! Thanks! You fixed it when Arlo was clueless.

What kind of wifi router do you have? My understanding is that there are only couple of routers compatible with HomeKit.
Hi Rasim I’m using a google mesh router but I don’t connect my router to HomeKit, do you use HomeKit ?
@@TechMadeEzy Actually I just purchase Arlo Pro 3 and I would love to connect to my Apple tv so I could watch on big screen. Unfortunately Arlo removed their app from apple tv. Home Kit is the only option I think.

I want to see what happens after you click on the Homekit setup. Because mine just keeps “loading” for eternity and nothing happens.
What device are you using to run home kit? And do you have accessory devices to add to HomeKit
@@TechMadeEzy I’m having the same issue. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and an iPad Pro. I’ve tried both to install my new Arlo Ultra and yes the privacy is on. But I just see that when I try to get the Arlo on HomeKit from the Arlo app it just keeps loading. Help please

hi mate, do we need the Arlo hub to be able to use homekit ?
Yes you need an iPad, a HomePod or a newer version of Apple TV to setup Apple home automation and for HomeKit it’s compatible with certain Arlo camera that come with Arlo hubs. Let me know if that helped

I have been searching for a wired cam that I could have plugged in to show up on a monitor that you do not have to have a smart phone to hook it up or use with.
I just want it to show whatever area I have it pointed at, showing on a monitor.

@@TechMadeEzy I found the info on the MicroCam I have had for years and am trying to find a replacement. I have a Radio Shack A/V 4-in/1- out Selector Switch. I have the MicroCam CS188 and the X10 both hooked up on it.
I want just a camera that I can connect to a Monitor, that shines on my entry to see when the delivery people come to the house. One that is wired to where I can have it on all the time when needed, through house current, NOT having to be on the Internet (online) to use it.

It's messy, it took me a while to figure it out when I posted this video. You can't get any support either because if you call Apple they tell you to call Arlo
Want a tip? Don't buy Arlo. It's garbage. BTW, this guys cameras are now WORTHLESS because they just put these on end of life. Poor fella
