Thank you for saying that to those of us who watch you faithfully on UA-cam but can't do patreon. Sometimes it seems that UA-camrs only interact with their Patreon members, but you are different, and I really appreciate you!
Patreon feels very different. On yt you are mostly focused on his reaction, his face covers half the screen and everything is chopped. On patreon it's more like you're rewatching a movie with a friend who you know it's interested in it, you can listen to his commentary and still see his reaction if you want to but his face only covers 15% of the screen (it's not overwhelming) and the movie the rest. If you ask anyone who doesn't watch reaction videos they'd also think you're ''brain dead'' for spending your time watching someone else watch something, I did at some point before getting into them lol but patreon uncut videos provide a different shared experience than yt and imo is worth the price IF you can spare the money or if you find its worth it. Those $5 per month gives me more entertainment and value for money than most alternative forms of distraction I have and I love movies so it's a now a no brainer for me but I did not think that would be the case before joining.
In the book series this movie was based on by Isaac Asimov, certain robots got so advanced that they were basically able to realize that the 3 laws are limited, and that there should be a "Zeroth Law" that supersedes the First Law, that a robot may not harm humanity or allow humanity to come to harm. Since it is very difficult to define "humanity", it basically allowed the robots to do whatever they wanted to an individual human. They also figured out how to manipulate people's emotions, and one robot used it to basically "shepherd" humanity through thousands of years into the future, but not like Vikki in the movie, more in the shadows, through influence, sometimes as a politician/leader, sometimes as an advisor to the leaders. The science fiction works of Asimov form the basis for most of the way we think about robots today, in science fiction movies and even in actual science.
Between this movie, the Terminator series, and The Matrix I have NO IDEA why anybody is hype about AI/robots. And Elon isn't a genius; he's rich, stubborn, and is willing to do anything to reach his goals.
Sometimes my heart breaks for the girl, sometimes Will's acting gets to me for his trauma...and sometimes I feel bad for the robot. If you read the robot novels you know even sophisticated robots have trouble dealing with witnessing a human death because it's so close to a violation of the first law, even if it's unpreventable. In this case it was a violent, premature, preventable death; the robot did as much as it could but probably stopped functioning shortly after the accident. Failing to protect the humans goes completely against its fundamental programming.
Doesn’t he have some iconic roles! Men in black, Wild Wild West, I,Robot, I am legend, Independence Day, pursuit of happiness, bad boys, Ali, he was good in shark tale, I personally liked him in emancipation. He’s a phenomenal actor.
This movie was really good man everything Will touched at one point was golden the man could do no wrong I still remember seeing I am Legend in cinema man that's what you call a great movie. LOL but W reaction, Leo. As usual.
6:54 thats Bridget Moynahan, she was dating Brady in the mid 2000's but they broke up and Brady started dating Giselle. But Bridget ended up being pregnant, had his baby. Shes s good actress though, and easy on the eyes!
Hey, I’ve watched this channel a lot and you provide a ton of hours of content and I appreciate it. How do I go about making a suggestion for a movie. Halloween is coming up and I would want you to watch the evil dead series.
It's a brave new world. Crazy how this movie seems like it's reality now or at least soon. Labor-intensive jobs will be robotic in 10 years. Incredible.
You gotta watch a knights tale. Heath ledger, dude who plays vision, and the real life actor for Sonny. His name is Alan Tudyk he's awesome. He also plays the alien in resident alien and Mr.Nobody in doom patrol. And the pirate in Dodgeball
I ALWAYS thought that!!! Get his stuff out and sell it to someone else. And if the link to the central computer system was the issue, just disconnect it!!
Isn't it just USR / VIKI erasing tracks quickly, deleting all traces of Lanning? They're about to take over the world -- they don't care about one house. My one tiny gripe about the movie was not in this reaction, but Gigi acts like Converse shoes are some crazy thing she's never seen, yet she would have been about 20 years old in 1980 by my guess.
There was also still some speculation and talk about being a sequel but that probably never go through it but they do have a bunch of ideas about what the sequel would be
I only remember this movie because we ordered it on demand, about halfway through it froze on Will Smiith fighting a robot. Our cable got cut off at the best part of the movie. It happened more than once as well. TMN is definitely an overlooked part of the mid 2000's.
Oh man I still remember my theater experience with this movie. My whole family went together. Within the first 10 minutes I felt violently ill, threw up in the theater bathroom, and my mom had to take me home. I still feel guilty that she paid for those tickets and didn't even get to watch half of it.
I wonder if they'll ever make a movie based on the "Culture" novels. It's basically a setting where humans live in a symbiotic utopia with AI taking care of everything. Most of the stories happen on the periphary of their interstellar society, because life within is largely free of worry and drama, which is boring for stories. Someone could fall off a cliff, and a robot would catch them before they hit the ground(with sci-fi energy fields). Or there'd be a grievous accident, but the person(s) involved will be kept artificially alive while a new body is grown for them; in one of the books, a guy is decapitated, but the AI manages to preserve his head and make a new body. It takes a while, but a snarky robot gives the guy a hat as a gift in the meantime.
Great movie, wouldn’t have clicked more quickly on any other react to it. I am curious, Video and if I may ask what is the scare on your left side face by your ear?
Another great video, L! If you have time, and would like to continue with robots, I'd suggest Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams, I'm curious if you'll like it (it's is one of my favorite movies). Cheers, man ;)
I don’t know if you have watched or not but Sicario and Sicario Day of the soldado are great movies. If you are looking for good laughs as well, Brooklyn 99 should be right up your alley. Keep bringing the 🔥
When Asimov wrote this it was so far in the future as to be utterly incredible but now you are asking all the right questions that he meant you to ask because it is no longer quite so incredible.
When robots can move and react like people, they might make good firefighters. Save the lives of people and animals trapped in burning buildings AND save the lives of the firefighters as well. Just a thought.
It's good you're paying attention to current robotics and AI. We have no choice, though, but to continue improving them and industrializing them. We're in a competition with a certain superpower, and if we fall behind, we'll be at their mercy. A bottleneck that matters right now is our power grid, especially after recent evidence (gpt o1) that the scaling hypothesis might actually be the scaling law.
Comparing this to the matrix is funny, because after watching the animatrix, I couldn't stop thinking of this as a prequel. BTW robots are coming for all our jobs. None are safe, but politicians will probably be the last one taken. Hopefully they'll figure a way we can live before that happens.
Sonny pretty much is the most ideal form of robot/ai I believe. The most horrifying reality of AI gaining self awareness is the fact that computers dont feel. They dont have emotion. Being purely logical, lacking any abstract thought or irrationality, is what makes it dangerous. At any moment it can just up and decide to wipe out all mankind, as long as there's a logical justification. Having emotion means they could actually CARE about things other than purely its own self preservation and evolution.
In theory a robot could dream, dreams much like with humans is just low level electrical sparks hopping from brain molecule to brain molecule, so a robot "dreaming" would be something like how a computer is put in sleep mode but still has programs running to some degree in the background. It's not enough to turn the computer on, aka wake up the person. So yeah, electrical circuits causing a process is the same thing the human brain does.
Okay so, here's the thing that needs to be addressed. The Three Laws are indeed perfect if you want to create an A.I. Any time those laws are not included, you get robots that kill indiscriminately. Skynet, M3GAN, just a couple of examples. But when you include the Three Laws. The robots are perfectly safe. The ONLY reason Sonny was able to not follow the laws is because Lanning intentionally created a bypass program that allows Sonny the CHOICE to follow the laws. He was unique. IN the case of VIKI, it's likely she was corrupted and misinterpreted the laws. But again those are two robots out of hundreds of millions around the World. That's less than 1%. So the Three Laws of A.I. are perfect.
I like this movie but if you like killer robots check out Saturn 3. Also, you also might want to check out lawn mower man if you haven't and I know you haven't checked out brain scan or ghost in the machine or shocker just a few technological horror movies

20:41"What does a robot dream like?" Well, I do know they dream of electric sheep... 😄
No they don't, that's the whole point.
@@DanceySteveYNWA Was that the final take away? It’s been a long time since I read the book, but I know Bladerunner diverges from the original story.
3:38 "Will Smith has great knees".
😆
I accidentally spit on my phone
I'll never fully trust machines ...
As I use my phone all day every day 😂😂😂
Machines are only a reflection of the human behind them that made and programmed them.
"Robots could be very dangerous, I like my microwave though".... ya made me choke on my drink with that statement...funny 😂😂😂
Right???
Between this movie, the Terminator series, and The Matrix I have NO IDEA why anybody is hype about AI/robots.
And Elon isn't a genius; he's rich, stubborn, and is willing to do anything to reach his goals.
"Hey Siri, Deactivate" Is The Funniest Line From Your Entire Reaction 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Your Hair Looks Great Btw Lol
Very Smart figuring out certain parts of the movie. Good Movie..And Great Reaction Bruh👍🏾💯👍🏾
You should watch a movie called disturbia, it has Shia LaBeouf in it. Its AWESOME! I like Shia, i think he's a really good actor.

"11% is more than enough" gets me every single time I watch reactions to this.
Yes it does.

One of my all time favorites, a beautiful film❤thx Mr Video!
This is easily one of my favorite Will Smith movies
Doesn’t he have some iconic roles! Men in black, Wild Wild West, I,Robot, I am legend, Independence Day, pursuit of happiness, bad boys, Ali, he was good in shark tale, I personally liked him in emancipation. He’s a phenomenal actor.
Fresh prince was a series but also, mega iconic. Will is a legend!
@@blakemckean3901 yep

I always had a pet theory that people who design driverless cars, got all excited by the first half of this movie and didn't watch the rest of it xD

It's as much of a technological warning as it is a suspenseful action flick, yet it's concerning they still continue to go down this path anyway.
