In Vrindavan - Part 5 - Preparation of Cow Dung Patties

- In the rural areas of India it is customary to make patties from cow dung. Each family has a few cows, the cows eat fresh grass or hay, they give milk, and their dung is made into patties and used as fuel, for cooking, for heating and many other purposes. The video shows a few rural women making the dung patties, drying them and storing them in a hut, which is also made of cow dung. This is a maximal and very practical utilization of the cow's products - therefore in India the cow is considered a mother. If the cows are raised with love, fed with the proper food, and cared for, in a very natural way according the cow nature, they give back.
In the following videos we will see how the cow dung is used for cooking, for creating an "oven" for burning clay cups, and for producing Ayurvedic toiletries such as tooth brushing powder, soaps, disinfectants, incense and more.
I think this is wonderful and a smart, careful use of our NATURAL resources.

3.33 what a cuite pie kid ..so sweet..little krishna
Thank the women for being subject in this film, enduring a hard life with a real smile is a strength of people that makes India the place I want to visit many more times.
I was surprised they don't mix in straw or husks to give a better fuel. Making the patties gives a good defense, not the dustmite phobic western kids that wither after they smell a flower.
The use as fuel indoors is not too healthy i read elsewhere, best to have a good chimney or open fire. Something about the arsenic in your soil getting airborne.
So precious!!! 🙏
Beautiful!
Fantastic environmentally friendly way of living.God bless
Beautiful music. I love India.
Sooo beautiful. They r so happy even with limited resouces. That kid is sooo cute. Hare Krishna. Vrindavan is a must go place. Constructing such houses will have least carbon emmisions.
Good job...heart touched
cow dung does not smell bad at all...its used as biogas for cooking food...and also were there is cow dung there is no bacteria ....
I have a stove! Do you think I can use this method to heat my house?
@@svetlanikolova7673 It is so widely used here in some rural regions where there is little wood and broad pastures with cows and its byproduct. Yep, they use it for heating and cooking.
American pioneers crossing the great plains used to use cow dung for lighting their cooking stoves.
i love Indian culture
Beautiful video, however I'm not sure of how healthy this practice is. Handling bovine dung with one's naked hands is a case of begging for fatal diseases. Cattle carry pathogens; handling dung is asking for bovine spongiform encephalopathy, bovine respiratory syncytial virus infection, bovine viral diarrhea, bovine herpesvirus, or another 300 diseases that can be passed to humans. That is not even mentioning bacterial diseases, and new mutated strains. 500 yrs ago, OK. 2013 we should be wiser.
Come to vrindavan you theory will become fallacy. Bcoz krishna' s magic is beyond your logic.

happy people ............ simple life .

The kid in start want to go toilet 😂, he probably shy. Nice documentary.
Who is this great singer?Maduram.....

What happens if it rains really hard or there's a flood? The idea of liquid 💩 poo raining all over me just doesn't sound pleasant.

Means adharam-Lips, madhuram-sweet. Devoted to Lord Krishna. Every thing of Lord Krishna is Sweet.
I have heard that they are good for lighting fires. I bet the smell is overwhelming
No.. cowdung doesn't smell bad
Cow dung loses its smell when it dries , and technically it is not that different to wood , it's made from plant fibers that dried in the sun. And it's renewable so it's actually a pretty good resource
i though they ate the patties.
fortunately they dont.
