I've seen some in person and really like his work. His colored squares bring you in to a fascinating, and calm place.
Some of those Rothkos were hanging upside down !
Ben looking at these coloured squares a few years. The more I gape at them the more I get captivated. I crafted a small work 12x16 yellow and green with ochre background. I enjoy it immensely. Thanks
The comments are absolutely correct. Mr. Rothko's paintings draw one in. They do breath
and much depends on the viewer.
Very decorative paintings. Is there one in yellow to decorate my batroom?
I don't get it...
I feel ignorant.... I don't understand why these lainting are masterpiece... I don't see anything special about it.... can any one explain please ?
It's a master in minimization and how you can stare and stare and find something about it, it makes you reflect on it and ponder with less.

This is not art
Ok.
Yes it is.
alconamx and you are able to declare this because of some degree you have in history of art?
It's not art.
There's a spanish term to condemn this bullshit, "hamparte", which means "any work disguised and packed to look like art."
How in the actual fuck is an uninspired square considered art?
You talk about us defining art, yet you screech for anything to be considered art without regarding any merit at all.
Art requires effort, high standards and true beauty.
This is not beautiful, this is dull.
What is art then?
