- We’re missing out on the world around us. Eyes glued to a device that cannot keep us warm. Cannot hug us when we feel sad. Cannot smell like the one person you miss the most. A list of followers who like your posts, but don’t show up to your birthday party. Who love your filtered photo, but can’t tell you how beautiful you are in person.
How is it that we exist in a world full of color, yet feel content to experience it through a screen? Are we so terrified of failure that we can only watch life go by? Are we so infatuated with everyone else’s demise that we’re too scared to experience our own? Aren’t our failures, our mistakes, our ADVENTURES what make for the best stories? The ones you have to describe so literally, so carefully, that it actually sends you back to that specific, special, moment in time. The one time you left your phone in your pocket…and chose to feel. To remember. To live. Imagine all of the things you could do if you put your phone down.
Stop the media. Be social.
Thank you to my dear friend, Gina Menichino, for filming this...and in ONE shot. Thank you to my friends who ran around behind the scenes, throwing balls, catching hats and sweeping up confetti. I am so glad I have likeminded friends....and I never have to ask any of you to put your phones down and pay attention to me. I have so much fun when we are all together.
