It’s the way he knew exactly what she was trying to do almost instantly. And the way he wasn’t even angry, and just encouraged her to communicate with him instead of being angry... gosh, I love them so much. It’s why none of their other pairings will ever come close. As Angel said - “There’s no comparison.” They are each other’s soulmate, period.
I swear to you, the Buffy and Angel pairing came along just as I was entertaining my teens and started to understand what romance was. They were my first ship.
His love for Darla was a toxic one. Like couples who beat eachother up everyday but stay in the relationship. To me his love for Darla is the polar opposite to his love to Buffy.
I am always glad Angel got his own show (which tied within the series, of course), simply because he was allowed more freedom with his deadpan humor as the star. He got the last word, whereas in Buffy, it was always Buffy. I love both shows, but Angel had the best one liners in my opinion (the puns were Buffy's strength).
I love angelxbuffy, they are just so prefect together!!! Their love is so deep and they are in their own world. It’s like they need each other. And yes I know she’s a teen and he’s over 200 I think? But still despite that flaw they are the best together!!
That's true. I like much more season One and two. Season 2 was the best. Season 3 the actors seem to BE detached from their characters and less at easy with each other. Also, the Faith ARC felt deja vu and Giles was horrible.
Man Buffy being a teenager in the early seasons had great acting. She going throught a lot of emotions especially with Angel being her first and true love. She worried about losing him.
No your right I agure she was afraid she was going to lose him I cried 😢when she killed him in season 2 and when she told spike I love 💕 you he said no you don’t. I was always a bangel fan i wanted her to end up with angel because she gave him hope and a future
@@NyRangersFrover Yeah me too but they grew up in different. When Angel left her for Los Angeles and discovered his purpose as Champion for the Powers of Be he found his purpose. Buffy grew up in different ways as well and she realized in the final season she's not ready for along term relationship.
Yes I can’t see angel with any one else but Buffy I was always bangel I stoped watch the show once she said I love 💕 you spike I was like no you don’t Buffy. You gave angel 😇 hope and you and him would have a fur-the
I think season 3 is my favourite, along with season 1 and season 2. But I love the deeper problems and things they dealing in the later seasons, but it was just too depressive for me in season 6.
János Zsigus It was really dark in my opinion, although I loved what they did with Willow's character. season 7 was almost comic relief compared to season 6 lol
Season 3 was the big season for them. Go back and look at the Neilson ratings and it shows that season 3 was the most successful and exciting season. My opinion of why season 2 and 3 where the best, Angel /Angelus. Dude made the seasons good, and people were invested heavily on Bangel.
Gah!! The beginning signs of deadpan Angel! Man who else thinks if they actually brought Angel back to this show, how much hilarious lines would Angel have. Especially with Buffy's puning power, it would've been hilarous. Big missed opportunity there, but both characters had to grow. But who did the most growing??
Er, no. You're misremembering all of early BtVS if you think that was the beginning of Angel's sense of humor (often deadpan or morbid). His very first scene included a deadpan joke: "But don't worry, I don't bite." He also smiled a lot more (often at Buffy) than Angel haters misremember.
NileQT87 well, Philly dude has a point. We got a few jokes throughout Angel’s time in Buffy (not including Angelus being free and happy lol), but his humor didn’t really go big till he was in LA. He was more open there than in Sunnydale. I also agree with you on that he smiled to Buffy but not anyone else. Still though, I have to agree that Angel post at least season 1 of Angel would’ve been hilarious in Buffy season 5 and beyond.
She gets so caught. Love her, and him. But I keep seeing her with Spike. But they are or were adorable together. I will just say it. Beautiful. And exactly one person.
@@SeraphSeph On Angel he's basically Batman. Ninja stealth skills, going out at night to beat up bad guys and in season 2 onwards he practically lives in a castle.
I think Buffy was both, but everyone is entitled to an opinion lol. I think Angel and Cordelia had a beautiful friendship and there was definitely unconditional love between them, but I think Buffy and Angel were the love each other's lives.
I think that makes sense, like Angel and Buffy are soul mates and influenced all these people around them but couldn't make it work with themselves. I always liked Cordelia with Angel cause they had the time put in and were besties who fell in love till that horrid S4 happened >.
Jenna Ramos Okay, then Buffy is both. AtS turned Cordy into a Mary Sue in s3-5. I agree with whichever of the writers said, "Let's pretend it's season 2 and it (Cangel) never happened." I bet if Angel had been thinking of her like he did in the beginning, he would've realized Cordelia was being duped by Skip/PTB and known she was possessed. But he was clueless because he couldn't see the real her anymore through the forced shipper goggles.
I feel like Buffy was really shallow here. At some point the novelty of uncontrolled telepathy should wear off and you’d realize you were infiltrating the most personal thoughts of the people you care about. And then the first thing she does is try to read her boyfriend’s mind
As much as I love this episode and this scene is great in a lot of ways, there's something that rubs me the wrong way: I get why Buffy would have insecurities after having had to watch Angel make out with Faith, but I feel like they glossed over the severity of Faith's behavior in a big way. Yes, ultimately it turned out that Angel was going along with everything knowingly to get information, but *Faith* had no idea about that. What she had intended (and fully believed she'd successfully done) was to aide in tearing his humanity from him against his will, use him for evil and sadism, and seduce him in his forced demonic, no-moral-compass state after he had set a hard no on that. The fact that Angel and Buffy lucked into a position where they were able to play along without it actually being successful does nothing to change the fact that Faith was completely happy to commit such massive violations of his autonomy on every level. I just wish the show had given more acknowledgement to how big a deal that is, and how serious Angel's distrust of her would be for THOSE reasons, rather than glossing over it as a thing of "he's only ever loved Buffy and 'bad girl' isn't his type anyway". The taking his soul part was the Mayor's idea so I won't put it all on Faith, but she was certainly happy to do her part to make it happen, and even happier to take advantage of him in that state! That's not 'bad girl', that's predatory. And especially with how they glossed over her straight up sexually assaulting Xander as well... it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. With all that said, I do love Angel's kind and gentle way of encouraging Buffy to just ask him about things rather than ruminate on her insecurities in their relationship ^__^
It’s the way he knew exactly what she was trying to do almost instantly. "In 243 years I've loved exactly one person." I freaking love Buffy/Angel.
"I'm a funny guy." Angel's deadpans always kill me.
It’s ironic cause he was funny in the pilot but then he turned into such a brooder 😂
It's almost like Buffy's trying to
flirt with and get him to smile or
even laugh.
but either way, I agree pretty
funny ' final lines.'
I loved that he picked up on that real quick
I can't imagine how many takes that took to get without them cracking up!
He's definitely funny in his show from the very first moment when he tells the bold guy he remindee him of Buffy because of the hair.

Yeah, Bangel forever, idc idc idc.
well when i watched darla on angel season 2, i was like ' buffy who?", my opinion has radically changed

He loved darla, or at least was obsessed as a vampire.

"I don't want a bad girl, done that before" so many men can relate to that.
This whole scene is adorable.
Me: wonders why I loved Angel so much as a teenager.

Nevermind, I understand completely.
