What a great song that tackles imposter syndrome and self doubt. “I don’t know the man that she claims I am. I could never be as good as him.” Great lyrics that I feel like a lot of people can relate to, the feeling of not believing you deserve your partner.
I love how scaled back the production is on this one. Nice and smooth, spacious. I've been trying to incorporate that acoustic sound more in my music as well.
I saw the short about how this song was started, using Biblical words as the inspiration. Keeping with that same topic, I realized that I heard this song much differently than it sounds like it was supposed to sound. At face value, it's talking about a man's insecurities and a woman's love, regardless of those doubts. The exact same idea can be applied to the way that Christ sees those who love Him. Personally, my life has elements of both interpretations of the song: I have those insecurities in my relationship with the woman I love, and I have those doubts in my relationship with my Savior and Creator, but it's incredible to see it from the other person's perspective. The unconditional love, the respect, and dedication, regardless of imperfections and sin, is such a beautiful thing that this song encapsulates very well. I do wish that the repentance, and the turning away from the sin, was focused on a bit more near the end, but it's still great.

To all the people who think the way this song describes, (I felt this way), trust your significant other. I had a other half, she always reassured me, i wasnt a good person in the past but i changed and she made sure to let me know that she loved me and that i was a different man than I was. But I had other people barrage me with comments telling me I was no different. Every time she would tell me she loved me and it would be ok. My paranoia and my self doubt eventually drove her away. Dont make the same mistake i did, actually trust them, because i didn't, i pushed her away. Great song, makes me cry everytime.
