This Puja is performed by the Thakur family for the last at least 135 years. Even now Arun Thakur one of the descendants of the original family performs the Puja. Hopefully it remains that way, because the manner in which politics is entering this aspect of Bengal I doubt whether the sanctity of Puja can be maintained. The local political bigwigs are out to take control of the Puja for political reasons which is not desirable at all.
