Chorus:
You need to git up, git out and git something
Don't let the days of your life pass by
You need to git up, git out and git something
Don't spend all your time tryna get high, nigga
You need git up, git out and git something
How will you make it if you never even try?
You need to git up, git out and git something
Cause you and I got to do for you and I
That's why

Ceelo’s verse is one of the greatest Hip-Hop verses of all time
His Sesame Street verse even better
100% agree. I have loved it ever since I first heard it. It just was magic to me and has always been since.

Even Biggie fw wit that verse out of all verses in dis song
"Git up, git out! Cut that bullshit out! Ain't you sick and tired of having to do without?" When I first heard that verse, it finally clicked in my mind.

Cee-Lo's verse is one of the best on Hip-Hop. Such motivation and positivity... We need more of this in 2020.
ABSOLUTELY! I like kevin gates "wish i had it" for modern motivational nowadays. Like you said, we definitely need more inspiration like this.
bigg gipp to me was something special
2023
The best is a far cry, but definitely sick. No hate. Words like best, love, hate etc.. are just words we use to simplify our intellect and numb down our culture. So I feel.
He kill it
This song got me through the pain of loosing my 16 year old brother to suicide in 1996 and also my 27 year old brother to suicide in 1999. RIP Paddy and John thinks of yous everyday xx 💙

You can def feel ceelo came from the heart with his rhymes, Bruh was really going through what he spittin on.
True shit
Goddamn, Cee-lo was only 18 years old spitting those bars
He wasn't just spitting bars. That man was speaking real-life pain and stuggles.
CeeLo delivered one of the best versus in hip hop history!. This was when rap was real!
Facts!! He is unrated at rapper!!
Yes indeed.
Right, best hip hop years. But nowadays even CeeLo is wack.
No BS, CeeLo's wordplay is bar none. He can spit stories with so much meaning, dude's rhymes are a constant rewind.
@@etherman7124 I consider Cee Lo as a fantastic singer, so he did his own thing. But yeah times have changed.
“I admit, I done some dumb shit, and am probly gon do some more, you shouldn’t hold then against me though” such a fucking great line
Cee-Lo spit one of the best debut featured verses of all time. Top 3, IMO. FIIIIIIRRRRRE.

This song reminds me of my father, he recently passed away due to an overdose. He may not have been in my life, but I can’t help but to think about all the good memories I did have with him. My brother told me he would listen to this song with our father when he was younger. RIP. You may not have been the best father but I know you loved me, you just didn’t know how. ❤️

I am so sorry about your Dad. May he Rest in peace. ❤

Need to play this for the niggaz 24 and up that don’t wanna do shit but lay in the house, smoke weed, drink nasty/cheap liquor and be sorry. Studies show that 30%+ of them don’t even get laid or have friends. Thank the creator we had music like this that literally made us get off our asses.

CeeLo was way too raw for what rap knew ! He was goin in for the south Goodie Mob was the best rap group of the south other than Geto Boys. But I'm also sick & tired of struggling lolol ! Did I make myself clear !

Ain't nothing wrong with u loving this ol school cut. I respect u for that

The GOOD-DIE MOSTLY OVER BULLSH*T...isn't that sad truth! Goodie Mob is, and will always be, the best in my eyes. They rapped about real issues that real people have to go through, encouraging and never discouraging.
Left my troubled past in Georgia 12 years ago. Listened to this on a greyhound to colorado non stop. Still here doing better!
Don't know u but I'm inspired by your change for the better

Word. You been blessed. Pay it forward brother.
Can’t do that no more
This song should be required listening for everyone, all the time.
People in this era are dumb down now lyrics like this is too much for them which explains why hip hop is dead
@I Am King it's sad I wish hip hop can comeback to this
Agreed
Even back then Andre` 3000 flow was vicious
Been vicious since 94
Still is vicious
Graduation rolled round like Rollie pollie
The Dungeon Family was our Southern version of the Wu-Tang Clan
The golden era of hip-hop.

This is something the new generation need to listen to.
nah men they should listen to future im sure theyl learn a whole new revelation from him
lifesogood85 I'm trying mane. They won't listen. Lol. But I was raised around this type of shit. So it stuck with me.
They need to have a History class at every record label!
lifesogood85, I listen to 90's rap and I was born in 2001
The new generation listen to garbage this is real music, now a days anybody can get famous for the stupidest songs ever but the good songs are usually underrated.
One of the greatest motivation songs ever! 🎵
Facts
Cee Lo slayed it
These days aren't coming back, glad I had a chance to experience it.
Y’all know Ceelo ripped this shit. “ I don’t recall ever graduating at all.”
This chorus is what Hip-Hop lacks. Especially new, mainstream Hip-Hop, where it seems like it's all about drugs. I feel like OutKast was a pretty damn good positive influence in the scene, while still bustin wicked rhymes to let people know they're not messing around. I know there are still alot of positive influences in Hip-Hop, but nowhere near as famous as OutKast was. They were fucking great, and it seems like they did it all without alot of swearing or the N word or even alot of violence, but I could just be overlooking alot of things, at least, when I did listen to them, I didn't hear much.
"You need to get up, get out and get something,
don't let the days of your life pass by.
You need to get up, get out and get something,
don't spend all your time trying to get high".
Ohhhhh how this song needs to be played alot more for people.
Real influences. We needed them in our generation.
This song just randomly played in my mind and I been thinking about my next move. This song is literally on point for me right now. I need to get up get out and get something. How will I make it if I never even try.❤
I just seen this video and the fact Cee-Lo talking to himself makes that verse hit harder for some reason
The South got something to say !!
Nah fr
This song is a gem 💎! It will never get old. The message is universal & timeless! Thanks to Outkast & Goodie Mob, this song kept me out of depression a few different times in my life! Thank you guys! 🙏🏼
Man this takes me back. I lived in the South and remember when "Players Ball" single dropped. EVERYONE was just on it...you just knew that Outkast was the next big thing...and then Southernplayalistik came out and that CD never left my stereo. Just such a good time to be in the south and great music to accompany it, with Goodie Mob on that album as well. I spent a lot of time in Atlanta and I was privileged to get to hear "Soul Food" album about 6 months before it came out...amazing album. I've been a huge Dungeon Family fan ever since. I won't sit here and bash the new music, but all I can do is be nostalgic because this music takes me back to such a good time in my life and if you're young these days...you'll see what I mean. In 20 years your kids will be listening to stuff that will make you go "huh?"...just saying. Not bashing new stuff, just not what I'm about so listen to what you want...but one day when your grey hairs are popping up and your kids are driving you nuts, you'll look back and reminisce as well.
Just enjoy life and never take it for granted, because nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
Agree bruh I miss the 90s so much man shit makes me cry
This song is my new morning anthem, everyday I know I have to get up with that indefatiable and relentless determination for greatness, always put a 100% of your mind and body to any task, never disrespect your knowledge and potential💯💯💯💯💯
Respect! May God bless your path and guide you to your destination.
Yeah this hits different in the morning fr fr

Well said...
this was one of the songs that was always playing in the car when i was in high school after i kinda broke off from a lot of the more druggie type folks of my junior-high/early high school years.
child of a single mother, OutKast's early work really connected with me on a different level
I feel this song should be a hit on the radio on and off. It’s timeless. It has a strong message. This is a problem today’s youth.

This song really helped me during my various months of being unemployed and during the job I had where I had to take trash out and toilet clean...made me realize I'm better than all that bs
What are you up to now?
Jobs are are just stepping stones to get where we want to be. The next one got to be better than the last one and always do your best in each one.
If ya play now, you’re gonna suffer later… classic…❤️

Til this day this song still gives me motivation 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🔥🔥🔥
Just turned 21 on the 23rd of Oct. Glad I listened to this song since I was 15. Put me in a mind working state. Currently trying to get into an Electrical Apprenticeship. This song also gave me a realization that I shouldn’t waste my time with the Electrical if it doesn’t work(it can take a while to get in), just waiting on a call or whatever letting the days of my life pass by. so my 2nd career choice would be an Aircraft Technician at FedEx building a career there if the Electrical work doesn’t Shake. To all the old heads, appreciate you guys.
The song even your mother would love.
