This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Around the world women are fighting for their own human rights, including the right to educate themselves. One of those battlefields is Afghanistan, where gender apartheid has oppressed women since the Taliban took power in the 1990s. Lauryn Oates works with international nonprofit organizations to help women access their rights to education.

Just like in the early 1900s this is another woman arguing for eugenic practices. She is literally saying that we need to somehow figure out a way to get women in 3rd world countries to have fewer children because the world has too many people in it
