Priceless....Bergh is new to me....Scott is a legend...but there is an elusive mystical power behind Bergh, in the realm of the American tenor greats of yesteryear....what a fine discovery. Thanks for posting this.
It has never, ever been any different in any jazz club. Even in Parker recordings you can hear conversation and dishes clanking. It was similar in Mozart's time, with conversation.
@@panjandrum.conundrum -somewhat true, but I’ve been to many jazz clubs over the years where audiences were more respectful of the artists and actually there to listen to the music.
@@Dukiedukester Even in concerts (where you supposingly go to listen to the music) people are talking while artists playing. Even in cinemas or theaters, more and more people act annoyingly to others (talking, serfing on the internet on their mobile phones etc.). I think it has to do with the "living room mentality": people are so used to listen to music or watch movies at home now, that they behave in venues like at home!
@@jimmyj1969 The best venue for jazz is now the concert hall, which lacks intimacy but at least you can hear the music. Rare is the club these days where people go to truly listen. I’m headed to Jimmy’s, a new club in Portsmouth NH, later this month to hear Charles Lloyd with a trio. The music will be the best. I’m hoping the audience comes to hear it.
