- For my 20th birthday, I wanted to share with you 20 things I've learned that have stuck with me throughout my life. I know this video is different from the kind of content I normally post on this channel, but I really enjoyed making it & I hope you enjoy watching it just as much!

1. Do what you love, do it often, and do it unapologetically
2. Pay more attention to your thoughts, what your thinking is what your attracting
3. Timing has a lot to do with everything
4. Not everyone thinks the same way you think
5. Silence says a lot
6. If an opportunity doesn't exist, create it; if an idea doesn't exist, create it
7. Your feelings are always valid, you're allowed to feel them, and you're allowed as much time as you need to heal them
8. Self doubt will be your creative downfall
9. It begins and end in your mind, what you give power to, has power over you
10. Breath in the future, breath out the past
11. The most beautiful things in life are moments and feelings
12. What you see in other people is a reflection of yourself
13. If it makes you nervous... it's worth doing it
14. Certain things will never go back to how they used to be, and that's okay
15. At your absolute best... you still wont be good enough for the wrong person
16. If you spend to much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done
17. Talk to yourself the same way you would talk to someone you love
18. Focusing on the negative in a situation destroys the positive
19. You can't find happiness in other people
20. No exactly what you want and don't stop until you get it

"Certain things will never go back to how they used to be" I can reallly relate to this one. I find myself looking back on the past, wishing it was that time in my life again. It's hard to not compare things to the past, but instead compare things to how it might be in the future...

I really hate the word "deep," because everyone I know has elements of depth. I watch Jenn because she IS smart, funny, and can simplify human emotion into something relatable. Not many can do it as well as she can, and she is able to tackle issues like capitalism, consumerism, politics, human emotion, ageism, and stereotyping among other topics. You just didn't realize it because she was making you laugh at the same time.
I would be careful to pigeonhole creators in the future.

The thing about Jenn that I find is so baffling is age. She got a UA-cam channel at 12 years old, purchasable tshirts at the age of 14, and before you know it, she's already rocking the stage, making her inspirations kneel to her, be on TV, and work for a company at the age of 16. And as a person of low age, its so inspiring to have visual evidence of her journey and how she made a person out of herself. Most UA-camrs that i see usually say "I just started my UA-cam channel because of whatever". But its nice to know, that she scavenged a worn out camera in a box beneath her parent's piano and 13 years later, you have already pulled off "celebrity-like" events. Call me a stalker all you want, but i admire her head start, passion, humor, and dedication to what she loves to do and simply apply it to my life. Tbh, Jenn has majorly innovated my life and pushed me to make something of myself at a very young age. The best thing that has ever happened to me.

Watched this when it came out 8 years ago. Turning 20 in 43 minutes. Had to hop back and rewatch this masterpiece.
whenever my mental health declines, and i start feeling down, this is the video i make sure to watch. it gives me hope that i will come out of this low & become okay again. this video is the reason i love you, jenn. you inspire me every damn day and i'm so proud of who you are, who you've been, and who you're becoming. you turned 23 this year, and bought a house. holy shit jenn. i can only hope to be half of what you are. here's to 20 more. happy late ass birthday ms mcallister. i love you.

Honestly this video is so inspiring, I finished college 2 weeks ago and I realised I needed to get a full time job. I want to become a video editor in the near future but my parents constantly try and crush my dreams, they keep saying ' why haven't you got into it yet?' Like it's an easy job to get into, but I won't stop I'll continue to look and fight for a breakthrough in the industry I'll never give up, thank you Jenn this helped me.

I agree with all of these but "you can't find happiness in other people" I have so many friends and people I love being around that completely just switch my mood. my one best friend made me totally forget bout my sadness.
friends can make you happy, but what she's saying is to find happiness in yourself even when your friends are not with you☺
They can make you happy, but you have to make happiness by yourself.
It means you cant rely on other people to make you happy. To be truly happy you need to find what makes you happy within yourself. Your friends and family can only give you temporary happiness.
You can't find happiness in other people because once they turn on you, you're broken. You have to find happiness within yourself to truly find the happiness that you need. Don't rely on someone to give you that happiness, because then that is not true happiness.
kayla katanik yea... one thing I've learned is to not rely on other people for happiness. Because that person has the power to make you happy in 2 seconds, its break you in 2 seconds. I'm kinda goin through that now. One thing I regret is relying on someone for my happiness
