    I think the main reason Veteran Sherman is so beloved is something that no other EUC company offers: It just works.
    It doesn't combust into flames, it doesn't shatter into million pieces in a crash, water doesn't seep in and break everyting, the pedals don't flop open too easily, the screen shows all the relevant info, it has nice heft to it so it stays on points, it has the epic roll cage that you can attach stuff to...
    IT JUST WORKS. It isn't fancy, but because it just works for vast majority of people, it becomes the fanciest thing around.

    I love my Max. I took it on a group ride, parked 5 miles out from the meeting spot, rode the 17 mile course, rode back to my car and didn't worry about range for a second. The whole time I was pushing speeds between 35 to 40.

      excatly my point. it's boring like a Harley. I just ride it. it has range. blah blah. just getting on one felt like I had a ball and chain attached to me. you need that battery to get that jamok moving. it has its purpose I guess. I don't care for commuter eucs and this tops that list. 🙄

    Amazing video, Hsiang! Thank you.

    Personally I love what Veteran did with the max, I think the Sherman is one of the best looking wheels to date, they kept the good looks and improved on the internals. It’s something Begode has done all through the Msuper line and something I hope Veteran continues to do with the Sherman. Minor exterior changes while continuing to improve performance. Awesome review mate, I cancelled my S20/S22 order as I was 116kg / 256lbs and really wanted a big range wheel like the S20 was predicted for. I knew being that weight I would never get what they predicted but thought I should get close 120klms / 75miles range. I ended up buying the Shermax and absolutely stoked with it, I did a range test and got 155klms / 96miles range. Keep in mind I have drop a lot of weight since I ordered the Shermax to get more range. I did a Relive video and put all the stats at the end of it but due to community standards I am unable to put an outside link in this comment. I will try send you a message on FB messenger if I can find your page.

    The only utuber I watch in full screen mode. Not my favorite video though, it’s like you were trying to make some kind of point but got lost in writing of it all.
    Whenever I happen to lurk around forums of public opinions (comments, posts etc) I almost always get this uneasy feeling that what ‘We, The People’ want absolutely doesn’t match what influencers demand from manufacturers. And of course it could be just my observational bias, but my claim is that for most people, 2 years without new wheels coming out is absolutely fine: they don’t want new wheel models, they want improvements in reliability of old ones; or for most people the biggest criticism is high weight, not lack of speed; or need for waterproofing instead of acceleration and other examples that could generally speaking be brought down to simple philosophy of most people not making euc ownership the center of their lives and not having to record videos for their followers entertainment.
    This bigger, faster, stronger frenzy ‘does not new followers bring’ and, in fact, I worry that eucs might fall into complete “motorcycle but more dangerous” range and that would pretty much kill the industry. Because wishing for “innovative high-performance” lines and expecting the mid-range or beginner wheels NOT to be neglected in turn is just that: wishful thinking. Euc companies simply do not have that kind of resources, and something has got to give. And an argument can be made that it’s already happened with last year/this year line ups. Plus, considering relative grey area of legality that euc occupies, "small, tasteful and discreet" would actually be a better strategy.
    Furthermore, in terms of design, what is “innovation” to some is an abomination to others. The so called new-age wheels all have something in common, -- they are absolutely hideous and look like carcasses of dead birds. And if the first wheel I’ve ever laid my eyes on was S22 or Master, I would’ve not given eucs a second thought. But it was Sherman, and so the love bloomed. :)
    That being said, opinions obviously vary, and I’ve actually seen someone claim that V12 was the ugliest design they’ve ever seen, which to me is blasphemy. But still, there are rules to the aesthetics business and most people intuitively see it in the similar way: ‘News wheels’ aren’t good looking.

    • @OWGAC
      @OWGAC  2 роки тому +2

      thank you for the thoughtful write up, but honestly I think the EUC companies cares neither about what we the "influencers" nor what the "forum enthusiast" ask for, all they care about is what sells. They are in it for the money and if a higher speed/ more powerful wheel sells and generate more profit, that is what they will develop. The vast majority of the ridership post nothing but vote with their wallets and they gets to make the call of what we all gets.

    Just thinking about it on a consumer level: Comparing it to an Apple product, Apple supporters will happily fork over for the newest iphone every 2 or 3 years because of the perception of improved hardware, but I feel like that uptake would slow down if it were 3500 bucks and nearly 100lbs. The Max appears not to be a significant upgrade from the previous model like you said so I'd suspect Veteran isn't too keen on pumping too much into R&D especially if they don't even have a website or logo. But for someone who's looking for an upgrade and doesn't mind not haven suspension, this might be a better option than the original Sherman(Assuming they can get it.) But that user case will dwindle the more suspension EUCs arrive from competitors. The window is shrinking.

Weight doesn't feel that different but it has a 10kgs objective weight penalty. What is this thing with extra torque and accel. madness lately? I purchased my Sherman in 2020 and though excited about this Max sequel I never hear the Max is so much of a big deal compared to the original... A little more is just not enough for me to drift from best to unknown. I hear the Max has thicker wires and that's about it plus the bigger motor and capacity...A little more torque maybe, but a little more weight too so I can do well with the original when I go off-road and I sincerely think it wasn't designed for that in the first place.I haven't even reached its speed limits and I hardly think I'll need to, it's a real fast machine in the city , it remains very safe at 42-44 and very stable. Try that with the new wheels...Also prices have gone bonkers since I got mine and oh, boy... Am I glad I bought not one but two Shermans. I'm holding to this wheel with tooth and nail. It's faster than the max and it's torque may not be the best to climb places where a Sherman just shouldn't be so I couldn't care less. I tried the s22 lately and there's no color to it... Very comfortable and shiny and beautiful toy,and also can't wait to test the Master but I get the slight feeling it's not going to blow my mind when compared to my Veteran. Yes, suspension looks and feels real good but with such tyre of mine I don't really need it yet... Let them develop the whole package. So glad the value on my Sherman hasn't plummeted at all...Ohh, not at all by no means.Even a V1 is still unbeateable in speed and range and we'll take you just about anywhere rain or shine, tarmac or trail. I wouldn't pay what they ask for a Max right know ni harto de vino.And the Master still has a lot to demonstrate...
