A nice slideshow of nature, ruins, Patagonia (which has a link with Wales - look it up!) and Earth from Mars seguing into the clock declaring "Nos Da - Goodnight" And from 3:24 you can hear a faint audio track - American Football perhaps?
"Yank here, everything on S4C was in Welsh, but the closedown?" Who knows. At one point, S4C used to run English programming at a time when Channel Four was not available in Wales prior to the late 90's. Their programs were simulcast or ran on tape delay in Wales through S4C.
S4C still showed programmes from Channel 4 on their analogue service until the end of March 2010 when the analogue transmitters were shut down for good. The last English language programme on S4C was an episode of "Shameless". The announcement over the end credits was "And that concludes the last ever English language programme broadcast on S4C at all. We'd like to thank Channel 4 for twenty-eight years of content." When S4C Digidol started in 1998, it was a Welsh-language channel only. This is the channel that exists today.
Hi @@ChristopherSobieniak. This might be of interest to you - some footage of S4C's opening night, starting with a bilingual introductory programme. ua-cam.com/video/r2S-AAOaxNQ/v-deo.html
Are there any clips on UA-cam of OLD S4C closedowns from the 80s when they used to play the Welsh national anthem? I live in the Granada region, but used to be able to receive both HTV and S4C as well as Granada and Channel Four, so I remember how S4C used to close down in the old days but can't find any footage of it here. :(

Probably from 1983, going by the use of Talk Talk's "My Foolish Friend".
I am bit of talk talk fan so finding this song in your closedown is good
Thanks to this video I downloaded this song off iTunes!
Good music.
Ooh... I came into the world four days later ;o)
Great video & song. I don't remember the song directly, but must have heard it before. Does this ever take me back to the 80's! Thanks!
Yes they did and i had another but i can't find it which is a shame but if it turns up i'll upload it.
