Good luck to Masandawana for the Caf champions league competition on sunday and not forgetting my simply the best Buccaneers as well in the same competition. Not forgetting the Stellies and hope they will make us proud to keep the flag of our country in the sky!!!
When he said move the ball quickly through spaces I got a horror image cause that’s what got manqoba mnqithi sacked… sundowns are a very patient team. They are very slow until they are over the Center line but let’s hope he knows how to make them take control
Football has evolved beyond slow build up play. Every team is focused on returning to their defensive form as soon as possible and be disciplined in their defensive structure & this is how every team will play against us. We cannot afford to play slow build up any longer; passing from the back yes, but with pace and intensity. We have to evolve in order to be the best. We cannot be the same and expect to evolve into champions when everyone else is evolving.
@ a patience in build up doesn’t always mean slow, it would be a terrible mistake to remove ourselves from our habits. Yes it’s important to evolve or to adapt. But with Us it’s important that we retain our identity. It’s clear that playing fast makes us lose the control that we’re revered for something that these teams fear in us. Yes certainly most teams play sort of a 5-5-0 against us which is what happened last season towards the end. And that’s the best place to be if u like having the ball. And from then on it becomes a game of space and shots from outside the box. Patient or “slow” build up if helps us fish them out and exploit the space behind which is how we always won. Playing fast or evolving to something that we’re not, that’ll be very detrimental to the team. It’s important to also remember that it’s not just a tactic it’s an identity so from seven years to first team they are taught those principles. We must not stray possession and relationism is something that Rhulani worked hard to instill into the club it’s working why abandon that for the sake of evolution.. when team in the champions league have won playing second ball football for decades? While we’ve only played like this for two years
@@levelzyung7454 everything you are is not what the new coach, Cardoso has said. Never once spoke of helicopter football. You are a fan of Rhulani & think that Shoe, shine & Piano can only be played the way in which Rhulani played it. You can be patient whilst sharing the ball and moving it with pace to exploit those whom jump out of their position. But the slow build up Rhulani played has no place in modern football, hence he was never a threat in the Champions League when we played teams who matched our talent, tactics always beat him. He could get away with it in the PSL because our competitors were not as talented individually. Hence he always failed against teams that matched our talent, including Pirates. Because you play a slow and patient build up against a talented team that is disciplined and will not be seduced by the slow balls at the back hoping to catch one player out. Pep Guardiola still plays Tiki-Taka at Manchester City but it is not the same as the one he played at Bayern nor Barcelona, because philosophies can be evolved. Shoe-Shine and piano of the past 2 years has no future in modern football and the proof is in the fact that we couldn’t compete in cup competitions when we met equally individually talented teams. Support Cardoso. Esperance vs Sundowns 2-legs and Young Africans vs Sundowy last season are the perfect proof that a patient but pacey build up is what is needed, not patient without intensity and pace. We did not create more than 2 chances because of that in those 4 matches. The shoe-shine and piano interpretation of the past 2 years has NO place in modern football, you can do that in the PSL against this weak opposition, not against the top 8 best on the continent. Also, this “relationism” that you guys speak of has always been the foundation of football since the 80s, it’s not a new or special thing. Every big team in modern football applies it, even in Rugby, Basketball and Netball.
