THE PURSUIT OF GOD’S TRUE LOVE How often Does a Judgmental Spirit and a “Lack of Love” in a Christian or Minister’s lLife Hide Behind what They call Spiritual “DISCERNMENT?” Notes : I’ve noticed that most Christians and their Ministers, who are carnal and always in the flesh, sit in judgment of other servants of God, While they are deceived by their so-called “discernment!” It is nothing more than their suspicions, ignorance, lack of knowledge, and/or misunderstandings about a particular person who they perceive to be off!! What is the antidote for this false discernment and spiritual immaturity in a person’s life who is truly pursuing God, so that they don’t fall into judgment from Him for doing it?? How do you distinguish between whether or not you are truly walking in the “gift of wisdom” or “discernment?” Simple.. I’m glad you asked!! The Bible says never to judge anything before its time... however, because this generation is impatient, doesn’t do research, wants immediate answers, and craves knowledge over the relationship, they rush to judgment and in the process not only their discernment about people is wrong, but their assessment and approach toward them is wrong too.. Solomon knew that no matter what kind of wisdom and discernment God gave him after he asked, he still had to wait and test the two women in the Bible, in order to appropriately discern between them, and get a “righteous” answer concerning who was the mother.. Discernment (Solomon asked God for this gift of discerning between his people ) usually operates with the wisdom of testing, and sometimes that may take time and patience, depending on the situation. When someone rushes to judgment with a lack of love and patience (love is patience ), the true discernment is that their behavior is not righteous before God at all... and you can tell people who say they operate in discernment but instead are in the flesh, because of the suspicion of their ignorance and fear of a thing or person, because they lack genuine knowledge in these traits and tests: A). Have they prematurely judged the person or situation in their mind by what they already think about them or by what someone else told them about a person or circumstance, without due process or right tests of discernment, that genuinely prove the truth!! (we’ve seen the evil in men in historical society who put innocent people to death because they thought they were witches)! If they have, it shows they have rushed in error, to discern through the spirit of impatience, and a lack of love. There is no due process... That’s why God allows due process or time even before He judged the angels that fell... B). Has God’s Holy Spirit truly weighed in on the matter, after acknowledging His leading... He will lead and guide you into all truth, not into your own discernment... That’s one of His functions in the life of a Christian, as stated by Jesus!! He leads and guides you into “all truth” not partial truth.. This leading and guiding into all truth from His personal presence and involvement in your life is different from the gift of discernment, as mentioned in the scriptures, as one of His gifts given to the believers in the church.. A gift only reveals in part, not in whole. When the Person of the Holy Spirit comes (not when His gift comes) He will lead and guide you into this dimension of “all truth!” C). Have you fasted and prayed, in love, over the person’s soul enough... It’s easy to write people off and judge them quickly because you’re not invested in their life like God is over them... He said all souls are His!! He’s invested in each person. He’s not so quick to write off! Instead, He sent His Son to die for that soul’s salvation.. this shows how much of a lack of love the church or so-called discernment people have... They are quick to prejudge a soul whom God died to deliver them, even out of their sins. They lack the true foundation of love... Operating in discernment without love, is the most dangerous thing... The Lord said, though I have all gifts and have not love with it, I am nothing... A lack of love blinds people who say they have discernment... They have no true love for the person because there’s no investment!! DON’T TRUST THEM!! Even if they are right, they only know part!! Not the whole!! It is really important to note what I’m saying here... about the spirit of impatience... it makes sense because the very first thing God uses to describe love is “patience!” Love is patient, love is kind.. because to be patient you have to have faith... So often, people who operate in discernment separate it from love, as I am saying here,l don’t use it as an excuse to not walk in love with someone... These are the answers and more of how you test, judge, or discern the ones putting themselves on the throne of Discernment against you?? Make them accountable... Discern the Discerners or the ones who are trying to discern you... THE TRUE DEFINITION OF “DISCERNMENT “ I love what this one definition of discernment says: “true biblical discernment is the process of determining and knowing God’s heart and desire in a matter...” and this is achieved through intimate conversation and pursuit of Him... It’s pursuing His heart in a matter... I’ve encountered a lot of people who say, “well, I have the gift of discernment,” but their fruit is rotten!! They are so arrogant and full of self-righteousness and judgments. They cast people away because, they “discerned,” but they are so far from genuinely knowing or seeking God’s heart toward the person and situation.. because they don’t seek His wisdom, His truth, or His true heart... What I’m saying is.. WITHOUT His love, working WITH ANY SPIRITUAL GIFT OR POWER, we are nothing!!! Do you really want to be looked at in God’s eyes as NOTHING?? MOST Christians don’t care, simply because they are more interested in being looked at through the eyes of men, as being something versus valuing being viewed by the eyes of God as being Nothing!! Their priorities and values in the Spirit are completely wrong and are at enmity with God’s heart!! They are truly men-pleasers whether they tell the truth or not! ~David E. Taylor~
