    Finally someone who states the manufacturer. Every other damn channel refuses to mention who makes the gun. Its always "The new blah blah blah form ELITE FORCE or balh blah blah from Umarex". Some of these channels really need to learn the difference between a manufacturer and a licensing company.

      +1 man it really ticks me off when they say its from elite force. Its like a majority of the air soft companies have a bias for elite force. I'm glad to see that RWA is still sticking true to the OEM.

    For people who keep hating on him for being an airsofter and assume he has never fired a real gun ( which he even said he has). You need to remember that ownership of firearms in china ( which were Redwolf is based ) by the citizens is illegal. So when people try to act tough and say shit like " Quit playing with toys and get a real gun ", they cant. Tbh, I've never fired a real gun in my life.

      For one he is not in China. Second you can own guns in China. I don't know where you get your facts. 1 in 5 people own a gun in China as of 2019. Only thing is you need to have an approved storage space at a shooting range to store it. Not allowed to house store it, or transport a gun without giving local law heads up.

    i personally own this airsoft gun and its AMAZING. im having lots of fun with it, i do believe these 417 20round gbb mags hold more gas and dosent cool down that fast like the we m4 mags. i ve shot really quick semi shots at a target and havent felt it cooling down AT ALL until it was out of gas. really really nice gun, i d give it a 5/5 for the excellent mag that performs like no mag i ve seen, and because it slides into the 417 very very nicely. the cosmetics of this gun is outstanding, and just like in the video.. it sounds, hits your shoulders amazingly. thumbs up to VFC for making a better gbbr

      Glad you agree! The sound is simply amazing and the gun feels so solid. It reminds us of the old KSC TMP which had the same wow effect on players from the 90's. Seriously this gun's bolt sounds like music.
      Using a car analogy, people buy Aston Martins and Maserati's because the exhaust sounds so good. They may not be the sharpest cars on the track but they sound amazing and look sexy. The same can be said about this Umarex VFC HK417. Not the most accurate or high performing Airsoft GBBR on the market. It has it's shortcomings in terms of performance and is a bit off the pace compared to some other GBBRs. But you don't buy this for the shooting accuracy and performance. You buy this for the beauty and the amazing sound it makes.

      2) i have seen accuracy tests and it aint so good. and people have a hard time finding parts to make it better than its aeg version
      3) why would i pay more for a gun when i can get a cheaper more accurate version.
      anyway i still want this but still kind of strange that the aeg version is better than the gas version

      the 1:1 scale of the guns, i know you can get mag fed markers (i am a paintballer, this is my old account) like the milsig rap4 tippmann, etc but they arent as realistic, for example the magazine. people play airsoft for realism and i will never understand speedsoft, if you are playing fast paced airsoft, you might as well play speedball

    • @jackwang4150
      @jackwang4150 9 років тому +26

      The real appeal to airsoft is that it is better than paintball. Jet del castillo, a former navy corpsman, said QUOTE:"I started off as a paintball player. I hated the mess and the insane costs of ammo. When I found airsoft, I immediately sold all of my paintball gear and bought a airsoft gun". $20 for 5000 extremely high quality airsoft pellets, $20 for 2000 paintball pellets. Most people in airsoft are respectable people who do not cheat. Airsoft guns are also more accurate, they can shoot farther, and they can look extremely realistic, unlike the unicorn laser beam cannons you guys use.

    A very very good GBB Airsoft Rifle indeed, i cannot say something else. I am proud owner of both, a VFC/Umarex HK 416 and 417. Both are very well manufactured and precise. Handling, feeling, recoil and sound are so amazing and it's a lot of fun using the rifles in the field. I spoke to Umarex (GER) because the 416's bolt broke twice allready, but they replaced and repaired it graciously. It seemes, the bolt unit needs a lot of Teflon/Gun-oil to run properly. The big pressure out of the magazines and the difference between the outer and inner temperature cause a lot of work for the entire bolt unit. If you ´can manage to replace the bolt and inner parts of the bolt unit from time to time, that might be the only thing you should maintain carefully and usual and you'll be so proud on and so happy with this gun !

    To be fair the reviewer has in no way had military training as I'm sure he would admit, when the thought of carrying rifle that weighs less than my mates lower leg when it decided to fly in a different direction to his body, when we patrolled across a legacy mine field in Kajaki, Helmand province. He's always trying to get himself 50% off whenever we go out shopping for garms, kit, or boots. 🤣 I'm sure with correct trigger drill and breathing, he would get that grouping right down. And he was firing a metal toy gun about 50/60 yds, open sight, so give him some slack. Great review, loved to hear a gbbr with a kick ass bolt assembly sound. I was thinking of getting one as I use gbbrs for simulation training in the UK (cheaper and no jumping through loads of reasons for owning a firearm like that on the FAC). Is the charging handle really weak ie, is it snap able due to poor build quality? Would it be possible to put the charging have from the PTS radian on it? Any ideas guys who own it as I appreciate this video is ancient.

  • @Gtodual
    @Gtodual 9 років тому

    That is neat that the bcg simulates recoil on an airsoft rifle. I must point out to this guy however, at 5:14, the charging handle being "flimsy" is actually anatomically correct of that platform. When you lock the bcg to the rear, it takes all resistance off of the charging handle thus making it loose. The charging handle is held in only by two bumps on each side that allow it to essentially float in the charging channel. As the buffer spring extends, the force is what makes the charging handle become solid feeling.

    To be honest with you, When I was in the army , not US, I used to have the M4 or AR15. The handle you pull to draw the bolt is actually flimsly. So I guess it is more realistic this way.

    Great rifle unfortunately 20rd Mags that are £50 each is a real killer for this gun, either the mags need to get cheaper or mag sizes need to increase for this to be a considerable skirmish weapon even in extreme mil-sim events. (Btw I get that they probably wanted to keep it realistic with the real steel 20rd mag and give you more gas possiblity but I'd prefer 30-40rd long custom mag than a 20rd mag you have to refill about 3 times in mid-battle because it has enough gas just not enough ammo. Hopefully in future they'll make this but if not I'll have to stick with an AEG and possibly buy this later on for aesthetic reasons although to be able to use this in the field would be great.

    To the kids hating on airsoft.
    No, it is not the real deal, nor is it cheap. But real veterans use airsoft to train.
    You know why? Because it is heck a real and it is the closes you will get to the real deal without killing yourself. And it is not about having the greatest and best either, but actually having the feeling of playing together, teamwork, and the social is the stuff that makes airsoft a great sport?
    So why should you come here and say that airsoft is not cool or just fucked up because it is not the real deal? Well if you think so, than you've missunderstood. And if I myself haven't missunderstood, than you are probably staying at your home as a keyboard warrior and finding something you can hate on because you don't have the mental abillity to think straight.

    Finally a REAL Hechlar and Koch licensed rifle. But my only request for you guys at red wolf, (just a pet peeve of mine it isn't very important, you guys are awesome anyway) Can you please stop holding weapons by the magazine or the mag-well? You judge weapons by the accuracy, yet ANY weapon, airsoft, paintball, or real, are incredibly inaccurate when held by the mag/mag-well. The last weapon I think was made to use the magazine as a hand grip was the S.T.E.N gun from WWII. Like I said I am not bitching at you, it just is a bit odd in my mind to judge a weapon by the accuracy without a proper grip.

    • @lagstyre
      @lagstyre 10 років тому

      Uhhh I don't think he was holding the magwell during the accuracy test. He was only holding the bolt stop firing blanks when he mentioned looking down the sights. That kinda requires you to hold the magwell

      This is gunna be a long comment xD... I know he wasn't, I just mean in general, I have seen many RedWolf videos of firing tests for guns that have a grip that is away from the magazine, the Uzi for example. The grip is there for a reason, both in real life and in airsoft. In both airsoft and in real life, the grip is there to maintain accuracy. In real life, holding a gun by the magazine can actually pull the magazine out during operation, a shell could be left within the chamber and fire without the magazine in place, older weapons such as the MP40 could explode in the user's hand and both destroy the gun, and kill the user when this happens. Other times (this is more common) the weapon could fire that last shell and the blow-back mechanism would fail to send the bolt back and instead push the hot gasses out of the mag-well, both burning the user and destroying the bolt. Rendering the gun completely useless and dangerous to fire again, if the bolt doesn't break when this happens, it will crack and then explode during the next use. This actually can happen from a lot of use as well. I had a .38 special S&W snub nose, I fired it once and a piece of the cylinder went inches from my hand, the gun jammed and required a new cylinder. This was only a .38. If I where using a .223 or 5.56 like the gun in this video, it would have gone ballistic and I most likely wouldn't have my right arm. If you own any magazine fed firearms, BE CAREFUL PLEASE!

      Toast Busters
      Comparing a gas-piston AR based rifle, with an UZI, or MP40, has to be next to the most stupid thing i've seen today.
      You cant compare two SMG's with an assualt rifle, yet alone gas-piston rifles with open bolt SMG's.
      And casings exploding arent that dangerous, they wont rip off your arm or hands.
      I've seen pictures of soldiers who got hit with shrapnel from exploded .50 BMG cases, and all they got were minor cuts and bruises.
      And about the mag-grip.
      It's a common grip for CQC, or close quarter combat, and all soldiers using AR based rifles are taught that grip.
      And even if you have a case exploding in the AR based rifles, typically the magazine will just pop out of the gun.
      The AR based rifles have forged aluminium recievers, which can soak up a lot of force, so i wouldnt worry about a case exploding inside if the gun.
      But secondly about the mag-well grip:
      Even if it's unsafe irl, this is freaking airsoft!
      I have yet to see a 6mm BB blow up with the force to rip someones wrist in half, or sever an arm!

      Also the M4 and newer M4 style rifles have forged aluminum receivers. The AR-15 has a steel receiver when you buy one stock. but you can buy an aluminum receiver kit for around $150 but you don't exactly need one unless you use it a lot or have a conversion kit that makes the weapon fire above a 5.56 N.A.T.O or .223 but other than that it is pretty useless. Also before you comment with a snide remark like that, you should read the comment twice to make sure that they are saying what you think they are saying. Just a thought. I have had an interest in firearm history ever since I was 3. If you are trying to anger or annoy me, you are failing.

    8lbs is light, carry an M14 around Afghanistan's mountains for 10 months. Or when I was your age carry a M24 around Saudi Arabia in 130degree weather with no shade and no A/C for the 16 months I was there.

    Just received this gun, but dam I was so disappointed that it was faulty. Does not load the BB into the chamber, only knocks it out of the mag just enough to get into the crevice between the mag and gun so when I try to release the mag it is annoyingly difficult because I have to use a hammer to press on the release so I can retrieve the mag. This along with a gas leakage after I finished my first mag. When I first had this problem I had it fully filled so when the gas leakage happened out of nowhere there was what I would describe as nitric oxide shooting out of everywhere from inside the gun. I checked the bod for deliverer damages but the box was in great shape. Not sure what the main causes of these are, but i am definitely going to contact support to see what they can do for me here.

    20 rounds per mag? That mag is huge and could easily hold more. I wouldn't want to keep changing mags and running out. At that rate I would get the 416.

    i made one that used propane which in the chamber is a small just right amount ignited causing a explosive reaction which is very loud and melts airsoft pellets unless heavy and dense but has range to 60 yards it will go through 4 layers of cardboard.

    I guess this is more of a "fun" gun to play around with on a shooting range, for obvious reasons. I'm probably gonna buy it when I have the budget for it. Unfortunately I cant get the full auto version because I live in Germany but whatever. Awesome video!

      ZzBiohazzardzZ Airsoft guns that are over 230 Fps (I believe) can't be fully automatic. I dont know why but the german law doesn't allow that, we also can't have lasers or flashlights on our guns.
