I used to have a brother and sister cockatiel that are to me, my children. I lost the female about half a year ago and that scarved me for life. I feel I cannot recover from the pain it caused. After a week my male became somewhat ill. So I called some pet stores and friends for ideas. I got lucky to find a female cockatiel of the same age as my male. There is not a day going by living in some fear of losing another. My male bird means more then the world for me. And thank God it helped getting another female in cause the male was distracted enough. Also put up allot of healing and calming music that helps allot. Also my male gives me kisses ❤. They are the best.
