Noctines' mission is to accompany the debate on the place of darkness in the daily lives of men and women around the world.
Noctines is a French neologism derived from the combination of the words "nocturnes" and "comptines", referring to cultural stories told to young and old at dusk.

Noctines' ambition is to share individual experiences and stories of night-time to reach a deeper understanding of the construction of cultural relationships with the night.
Noctines' aim is to understand the creation of individual cultural representations of artificial light and night.
Noctines' plan is to gather lived or desired personal narratives, about the experience people have and would like to have with the night.
Noctines' vision.
short term: develop a methodology for creating a low-impact, shared and sustainable night-time city, with the living species' experiences at the center.
mid term: understand the scale (space/time) of societal construction of representations of the night, from the global to the local, from the collective to the individual.
long term; study the «night-individual» system and try to understand the tangible and intangible interactions that take place there, and the effects they have on the individual and on society.
