That bike sounds like a beast. I would go for a bigger motor/more powers but then you start adding weight quick. At 90ish LB I love the way this rides. For a street bike that obviously doesn’t matter though.
Hey man, nice video. I'm about to buy the non X version of this bike with the 7K high torque motor. What's your feedback on hill climbing, does it chock / overheat easily ? How is the torque at low speed ? Do you have to fight against the front wheel going up when accelerating full throttle ? As well is there pedale assist (with torque sensor or something) or is it throttle only ? Enjoy the bike :)
Hey that’s awesome to hear. The 7kw model has the same upgraded motor as the 8kw model and the high torque motor is a beast. I have the high speed motor at 8kw and couldn’t see myself needing more power. The torque is easily enough to bring the front wheel up if you don’t lean forward when you throttle.
Hey dude, love your Revolution build! I was thinking I’d get a 7kw Revolution for a commute/trail bike; but I’m worried about it performing on local single track and a little east coast downhill riding, making me consider the Revolution M… but the M would probably suffer significantly on a 20 mile commute. Suggestions?
I was thinking of Cake Bikes, CAB bikes are insanely powerful and for a street bike, when weight and suspension doesn’t matter as much, they’re definitely one of the best options.
Thanks! I have the high speed motor on my bike because it actually produces more torque then last years high torque motor. I’ve never been bothered by authorities but I’m always courteous of other riders and pedestrians. I also pedal with the bike at around 30-40 miles an hour 90% of the time. As long as you have the pedals and respect the rules of the road, you should be good.
i have a question i can't seem to find anywhere, they say lithium batteries last 3 years or 1000 charges, question number 1, what happends if im charging from 90% to 100%? does that count as if i charged the battery from zero? question 2. What happends after charging it 1000 times? is the battery gonna die completely, or the range will simply decrease?
To make it as simple as possible, that three years, or thousand charges is kind of a worst-case scenario figure. Lithium batteries nowadays can last around 3,000 cycles if treated properly. You can achieve this by not fully charging your battery all the time. Keeping it between like 20 and 80% will drastically stress out the battery less, causing it to last longer. Regardless of how you charge the battery, it does have a shelf life of around 5 to 6 years in which it’s capacity will be less then 80% and quickly fall over time. If you have your battery at 90% and fully charge it that does technically count as a cycle but it’s not nearly as stressful of a cycle as charging it from 0-100%.
I ordered it over the phone and just asked for the biggest size. So I’m not sure what I got. You will have to modify it in order to work regardless, as the new 8kW Revolution motor is custom made for HPC.
I got the large shifter style Rev Grips. Make sure to order another locking ring because it only comes with three and you need another one on the inside of the throttle side grip to keep it from sliding/locking the throttle.
Do you think you could do less spinning with a bigger front sprocket while pedaling? I've always wondered why manufacturers use such a small front sprocket? With a bigger front sprocket, you can pedal less at high speeds. I put a bigger sprocket on my bike and it reduces the "Hamster pedaling effect" to a reasonable degree. I was thinking of getting an even bigger front sprocket to lessen the over pedaling syndrome. But IDK if it will hit my rear rails?
This bike actually has a 2 speed front chainring. So it pedals with all the gears you’d want for a normal bike and when you click it into the second speed the chainring effectively doubles allowing you to pedal up to like 50+ mph. You can also add an even bigger chainring on the front allowing you to pedal at higher speeds but I find after about 50mph it’s more efficient to just get in an aerodynamic position.
Yeah, I’ve had people pulling up to the side of me in there car at 50+ mph, roll down there window and be like “what is that!?” Especially when I’m pedaling hard at the same time.
I notice that you didn't go over any jumps. It seems like the heavy rear end would not be good for jumping. What is your experience with jumping this bike.
I kinda just didn’t have any jumps to go off of but after you get used to the 20 extra pounds in the back wheel (the hub motor) and the difference that puts on positioning requirements. I can jump/ corner this thing no problem.
Usually, I mash it around so I get like 35 miles. But if I go 20 miles an hour I can go over 100 miles with this battery without peddling. I've tested this by going from LA to Santa Barbara before on one trip, which was 117 miles.
I don't see the point of paying that much for a bicycle... If you strictly hate gas motors you can literally buy a KTM or Zero electric dirtbikes cheaper than this
I totally agree with you. It's just that all these guys with these fast ebikes like this bike and Sur Rons love to go on mountain bike trails or waking trials and piss people off by going so fast and crazy which is going to get even class one and two bikes kicked off of these trails....bummer.
I personally like this bike better than any other option on the market because of it’s weight and the pedals. The whole bike is less then 95lb and I’m pedaling/working out pretty much the whole time.
That would be why he has one and you guys don't, different strokes for different folks. I hate when I see people invoke their opinions on someone else post. Clearly he's happy with his bike and his purchases and he wants to share it with others that may be interested. it's not for you to like, move on to the one you do, why put negativity on this man's post. I'm running a qs205 v3 50h, sabvoton controller 200a 72v 40ah battery I let my buddy rode it and saw 72mph on the display. Nice ride you have also

Jeeze man, that's just a beast of a bike!🤔 I think it's almost as good as one of my favorites by CAB Motorworks 😁
CAB Makes some cool bikes. They just don’t have pedals and are quite a bit heavier.

Does one have to pedal or can one use throttle only?
Cool bike btw.
either
Thanks! And yeah, it has a throttle and you can also pedal with it at speeds up to 60+ MPH.
