    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have always been interested to know what a 410 gauge pattern actually looks like. It was time to have a look!
I have got my hands on a left handed Kofs Sceptre 410 30'' over and under to do some clay shooting with which I think will be a good challenge for myself and also a lot of fun.
My plan is to book on and shoot the British 410 Championships later on in the year so I'm going to get practicing straight away.
This is a basic test to see how all the 5 chokes (Skeet, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, & Full) perform with a 3'' magnum 18 gram 7 shot cartridge.
I decided to test them at 30 yards which is in my opinion would be a reasonable target for a 410 gauge.
The results were very interesting and certainly surprised me in what I thought they would be!
I hope you enjoy the video and let me know which chokes you thought performed best and what combination you would use.
    Hot Barrels,
    Rob.

One of the best .410 pattern exercises that I have watched, well done.

I have an older version with 26" barrels that I won in a raffle a few years back. Has surprising nice wood. I'm north of 5K rounds fired and only two minor hiccups. Here in the US, I think we're limited to 1/2oz (14 grams) for competition. You might want to verify 18 grams is okay. I used the same gun on a walked up in Wales last season. It did the job when I did the job. 😂 I had 1/4 and 1/2 in mine as well. So you've confirmed my "holes in the pattern" excuse was not valid. Thanks for the video Rob. Keep them coming.

The joy my kofs 410 has brought me is unbelievable. It’s my go too game gun now for farmshoots and walk rounds. And it’s built well for the money. Best gun I’ve ever brought

Greetings to you. In Russia, steel cartridges for 410 caliber are often used, it is very convenient and there are many accessories for equipping 410 caliber cartridges.

Im really glad you have done this my kofs .410 is exactly the same the chokes make zero difference .i think i have 1/4 and 3/4 in mine but it make no difference .they all pattern pretty well at 30 yds just like yours did .its quite nice really as it means im not swapping them about and second guessing my self .just go out and shoot it . I use mine on clays and it will break them out to 35 yds and dusts them at 20 yds .
Use mine on pige and ive taken some lovely birds out to around 35 yds with exactly the smae carts as you have . Great guns .if you get chance try the fiocchi 19 grm no7.5 plas wads . They hold together tightly and hit everything hard .

By far one of the best 410 videos I’ve watched. It would be great to see a review on your pump action as well to really compare with o/u. As someone who is in the market for a 410, I’m somewhat undecided over the two.

I bought the same gun but in 28 bore after my son bought one in 410, always fancied a 28g, great fun. Re chokes I found similar with the 28g 1/2 choke gave the best even pattern using both factory Fiochhi and home loads, 24g fibre or plastic wads so using 1/2 in both barrels.

I've yet to try the Hull High Pheasant, but I've pattern tested about seven different cartridges in my Yildiz. Half choke was best and anything over blew the pattern. Best of the test were Gamebore 18gm 7½ fibres and then Fiocchi 19gm 7½ plastic. Might be worth trying those in the Kofs.

Have you looked at the pattern on your pump action? I'd be interested to compare them. I've shot clays with my 410 mossberg 500 and it really does surprise people 🤣

Hard to tell much difference, except for the 3/4. Maybe counting the pellet holes would help?

Grammar Police time, it is pronounced Septer not Skepter. In the English language and S and C together in a word the C becomes silent. Don't shoot the messenger but my first language is Welsh not English. Just saying😉🫣
