@@paulwoodford1984 Here's roughly what happened: 1) Two men walk along the street 2) Masked gunman was lying in wait and approaches them (don't know if he started firing at that point) 3) The poor girl's mother opens the door to see what's going on 4) Victim of the shooting forces his way into the house to try and escape 5) Mother tries to shut the door, gunman gets his hand in and fires indiscriminately hitting the girl in the chest and mother in the arm 6) The 35 year old victim was taken straight to hospital in a black Audi (seized by the police already) and they offered no help to the family inside the home --- My guess is the shooter ran out of ammo or simply legged it, not knowing or caring what he'd actually hit. He might not have known exactly what happened until the news broke today.
In the recent past, I left Merseyside Police after 14 years as I was simply unable to do my job due to political influences. The police being used by the left and right to score points. This is the perfect time to be a career criminal. This incident is nothing short of tragic. RIP in Olivia.
So sad. Hours upon hours upon hours of evidence gathering and file building ahead for the MIT now just for this to go to court and the defendants to get 16 years for manslaughter. This justice system is so broken and we see comments like mine countless times! Nothing will ever change. In reality these men went to the house to murder someone that shows intent. I guarantee you that if they catch the gunman responsible for this, he certainly won’t be getting away with just a manslaughter charge, if convicted it’ll definitely be for murder, regardless if he meant to kill the 9 year old or not, even if he was aiming for someone else he’ll still get convicted for her murder. Then hopefully he’ll get a full life term, if not I’d imagine minimum 35-40 years in jail before parole

The little girl has lost her life, her parents have been left grieving and will never get over what happened to their daughter, the two people who ran into their home, for safety, will no doubt be wracked with guilt for the rest of their lives and it is only a matter of time, before the murderer is caught thus, their life is ruined and their family's life also.

1) Two men walk along the street
2) Masked gunman was lying in wait and approaches them (don't know if he started firing at that point)
3) The poor girl's mother opens the door to see what's going on
4) Victim of the shooting forces his way into the house to try and escape
5) Mother tries to shut the door, gunman gets his hand in and fires indiscriminately hitting the girl in the chest and mother in the arm
6) The 35 year old victim was taken straight to hospital in a black Audi (seized by the police already) and they offered no help to the family inside the home

My guess is the shooter ran out of ammo or simply legged it, not knowing or caring what he'd actually hit. He might not have known exactly what happened until the news broke today.

So sad. Hours upon hours upon hours of evidence gathering and file building ahead for the MIT now just for this to go to court and the defendants to get 16 years for manslaughter. This justice system is so broken and we see comments like mine countless times! Nothing will ever change.
In reality these men went to the house to murder someone that shows intent. It may not have been the victim her but the intent was for someone to be killed which is why the gun was pointed into a house knowing people were there and then discharged. You cannot argue that fact. But the defence will and get the charge dropped from murder to manslaughter. I genuinely don't know how defence solicitors sleep at night!
I guarantee you that if they catch the gunman responsible for this, he certainly won’t be getting away with just a manslaughter charge, if convicted it’ll definitely be for murder, regardless if he meant to kill the 9 year old or not, even if he was aiming for someone else he’ll still get convicted for her murder. Then hopefully he’ll get a full life term, if not I’d imagine minimum 35-40 years in jail before parole

They will get a full murder charge most likely, there’s a legal rule called transferred malice which basically states anything for the intended victim will be applied to any other victim, the fact the gun man had direct intent to murder the other man but got Olivia instead is irrelevant, the intent is transferred to the actual victim
