Thank you for this video! My set-up was basically the same. I went 1400ft to another building using Kuwfi, powerline adapters & a router...works great!
those powerline ethernet adapters are pretty nifty. I have like a half dozen or so of them kickin around my house in a box somewhere. im really into drilling holes and running cables tho. hopefully someday ill be able to use them.
Thanks for putting this video together. I replicated this exact same set up to get wifi to an adjacent mother-in-law unit, and it worked out beautifully.
@@arthuritchybollix5064 Yes, I used: (1) the KuWfi wireless outdoor bridge; (2) a Comtrend PG-9172 powerline adapter kit; and (3) a tp-link AC1750 wi-fi router. The KuWfi bridge is made by a Chinese company, so the English instructions aren't great, but I didn't really need them. I just plugged everything in as per the video (making sure I had a line of sight for the bridge), and everything just worked.
You didn't mention if you used the software to peak out the Antenna alignments. if you didn't you can swing the antennas at each end to get max RSL and it may improve your data rate. good video thanks
Thanks buddy. I used your power line adapter suggestion with success. The instructions are really bad but support was great and it’s working fantastic.
what about ping ? usually KU-Band (assuming that "KUWFI" using KU band, that's "KU" stands for) are laggy, it's like 300-600ms ping in the receiver network.
I did not check the latency but users in the other house get good internet and watch TV from a SmartTV. The reponse times dont seem to be lagging. I'll have to check that out next time I'm over there.
So, I'm still troubleshooting. Should the m/s be in repeater mode or ap mode? Right now it is set to repeater mode and for the life of me I can't figure out how to switch it over to ap mode.
Am really curious if there isn't more too that "under the sink" stuff? Using the plumbing as an interference shield? Wow, brain buster. Thx for example. Unfortunately, I have obsticals/ mountain in way. So I'm trying to figure out a solar power'd "repeater" that I can put on a common mountain peak that all 100 acres can reach. Most importiant is connecting the 3 different complexes. Secondary would be pasture survalenc. Scheduled drone liftoff's for livestock grazing surveillance, fence checks, yoty hazing etc. All interlocked with weather stations that input grid conditions. May not be flyable conditions at one area, but ok at another. So,,, yeah! "Home Automation" 2 another level. Feeder valves and gate automation. Wow, list goes on. Hey? When do we get a kit to make our old tractors run off a peanut for 20 years?
No nothing more under the sink. Not the best for a router but this is what the cable company did for me. I'm afraid you need line of site. Maybe get a tethered drone that's tethered by power line. Oh boy.
Super good video and well detailed. I wonder if you tested first without powerline and with the antennas near each other so as to know if the low bandwidth was due to the antennas, ISP, powerline or what. Super thanks.
Did you make a How To for configuring the slave side router? I got it all plugged in and I’m stuck on why the second router has no internet connection. Bench testing it all before actual physical location install. Tia.
You turn on the Master and then the slave. Make sure they're line of sight of each other and they will recognized each other. It's that simple. When you know they're communicating they will display the same codes. if it doesn't work the first time reset them both always making sure the Master is up and running first.
They can be inside but 50 to 80 feet is very close. I would think there are better product to use to just extend your homes Wifi signal. This product is long range.
