Hi Kevin 👋The Lite has RYYB, the LiTe+ is just ordinary RGGB. The lite hasn’t been released yet due to firmware issue i believe. It was kinda confusing and i was tricked into thinking my Lite+ is RYYB too when doing my pre-order :( In essence, The Lite should perform much better in low light than the 1inch on the Lite+.
If u want to have the extra features not found on the Dji mini 2, like automated timelapse, no geofence and the ability to handle a lil better in low light, the Nano might be worth considering. The mini 2 is still a great drone, just that it’s been around for too long and not kinda worth it to buy new in 2022.
Cool! Notice that the main reason why you film the white balance card if to get the colors right no matter what drone you use. In one click the colors will be corrected. I always recommend the gray card instead of white. Always film gray card and correct in post the white balance before any color-grading. White Balance right is one the most important part of filming. Many people don’t understand how it works and when to use it. Always use the gray card on 100% of any footage to avoid getting wrong colors in post. Anyway!!! great little drones!
Hey Ney. Great tips you’ve got there. I’ll try to implement when I’m doing videos next time. By the way, how do i possibly do a white balance calibration at night? Any idea?
@@TheGreatExplorer You film the card with a little light you have. The drone will see the gray card. And you pick the grey color from that. Make sure the the White balance on the drone does not change, set to manual mode. You just need to get some gray color from where you took off.
I think most of our editing apps see our photos as RGB, I haven’t found a workaround for this in my editing app. I’m using affinity photos for my edit. All the tuning seems off due to the RYYB Color space, maybe there’s some settings in our editing software to change this. I did a video mentioning this issue too.
@@07kevlar Our photos looks green in RAW files due to the RYYB color filters, may i know how do u make ur editing software read this color array correctly?
Thanks this was a great tutorial on the newer RYYB sensors. Sounds like we need to update our editing platforms to handle the Newer Sensor so they can tune better to the change in filtering light....thanks again. Hope Autel gives us the tools to make up our own editing minds. Lol 😆 I actually think this RYYB sensor will give you many more options in the future.....
Most welcome. Probably in the future, if more camera started to implement RYYB color filter. This is good especially for drones since we are taking videos and photos from an angle so high up.
Another thought, Autel seems to understand there is more to photography than just keeping the statisquo nothing wrong with giving the consumer more to choose from. I like that in a company, and the horizon is so level.....Autel putting their best foot forward.
The nano+ resolution doesn't show 48mpx. Is it possible to take 48mpx with it or it only let you shoot 12mpx? It would be intesting to see the difference... Great video thanks!
Unfortunately, you do not have the option to choose 48mpx. I think it might come in a later firmware update. It couldn't do automatic HDR too unlike the lite+, u might have to use AEB and merge manually for now. Cheers!
@@TheGreatExplorer I can deal with manual hdr merge, but having access to the 48mpx will probably be a big upgrade. So far the level of detail compared to the mini 2 seem marginal at best from i what i can see... Probably night shot will be another story, im impatient to see your next video!
@@maxime.ayotte If the same logic of the ZMP applies here since that could also take 48MP photos, there will definitely be a response lag given how heavy workload it is to process 4 times the 12mp images on this small drone. I’m thinking maybe they are still optimizing their firmware to avoid crashes which would be very bad if it happens up in midair. Night footage is definitely a winner vs the mini 2.
Cool. But sometimes the surface I’m taking off is not ideal for a landing pad, like a concrete or a road, where I couldn’t fixate my foldable landing pad. I usually hand catch this when landing since it’s pretty stable.
@@TheGreatExplorer hand launch an catch it is my solution in situations like that yes even the mini 2 I can hand catch some say im crazy lol just takes a little concentration
The nano+, has the same behavior as Air2 (1/2 sensor, QUAD bayer. 12mb and it can take 48mb photos via the quad bayer sensor. But NOT BIG DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY). The RYYB SENSOR is more sensitive to the light BUT is more difficult to the post prossecing. To much information and I've lost you!! The sharpness and the DETAILS is more critical than the colors. So which is the most detailed photos???
I think i will not be able to compare the level of sharpness as due to the Shutter Speed difference on these camera when taking these photos. Generally a photo taken at a higher shutter speed does looks sharper than those that aren't, in which case the Autel Evo Lite+ & the Nano + has the advantage. Probably on my next test, i'll put more focus on this subject, thanks for bringing this up!
@@TheGreatExplorer HI my friend. It's not difficult. Take photos WITH THE SAME SHUTTER, and then compare them in 150, 200%. Try to catch trees or places with "dark" scenes just to investigate in the dynamic ranges, etc. How about the range and connectivity?? Any cimbal shaking? Props in shots??

Great comparison! Wish we have the DJI Mini 3 to compare the Nano drones with!
👍👍 Definitely
Autel stated they working to address issue with Nano+ raw files in future update.
Adobe editing software cannot handle ryyb images at the moment.
No wonder that they disable the shooting in RAW for now
Where have they stated this?
Why no 48mp file????
Back then they haven’t unlock this feature, now it is available
hey GE, according to Autel's spec for the lite+ , it indeed has the RYYB sensor and not the RGGB sensor. You can check it yourself
