- Vox Machina's story has been blessed by the dice gods on many occasions so much so that some have claimed the show is scripted(LOL). I personally believe Matt's flowing hair holds the key to Critical Role's masterful improvised storytelling ability that cannot be matched by any form of scripted media. I have no idea where I'm going with this but its nice to see the description box full for once? idk A lot happened today in world news
Anyways here are 4 occasions the dice gods decided to intervene for love. - Розваги

"Make a performance check," *looks around WHOLE table on tears* "With advantage."
I think the advantage was a nice touch. Granted by Ashley's reaction to her first roll she probably didn't need it, but the nat20 really sealed it.
I think he said advantage because it was Pike, his love interest, reciting a poem to a bard. It made sense. But part of me also likes to believe it was Matt making sure they had a shot at the revival, because if that failed, the entire thing might've failed 'cause Grog didn't succeed.
@@acetraineraster5171 Not to mention it also likely can be advantage because of how Pike was feeling when Ashley read the poem to Scanlan as a bonus besides Pike being Scanlan's love interest.
@@BryonYoungblood I think Matt has always had a good way of awarding inspiration which I think this was.

I think he also did it because he knew she didn't have a high performance and wanted to give her the best chance
The way Liam hugged Laura in the first one, then proceeded to say “She loves me, she really loves me!” Made my heart melt like butter.
Two Nat 20's for an attack to save your party member will tend to get that reaction 😂
then he turns to her at the end of her turn and says "That was amazing"...gods love that man. His compliments to the other players is such a beautiful thing.
Everyone else had some great reactions too to that awesomeness
@@michaelbrucato7180 not just a party member but your twin flame. Same birthday, best friends for years, he might just be playing her brother but he is also quite literally her brother.
The way Ashley's voice breaks during the "will never be the same" in Pike's poem kills me every time
Same with her voice breaking when talking to Scanlan over the earpiece later
Also respect to Matt for not tearing up at any of these moments, that man has a pokerface made out of fucking adamantium.
If Marisha hadn't gotten that natural 20 both Keema and Allura would definitely have died
Not only that, but matt actually said that if they couldn't find them somehow, he would have had to kill them. They wouldn't realistically survive that by themselves and Kima was already half dead when Vex found them. Makes those 2 Nat 20s really a sign that the Dice Gods do exist you know?
Matt STILL had to ask what the total with bonuses was, even with the Nat 20, which meant he probably considered that a "nearly impossible" DC. Something similar happened with Caleb deciphering the journal in Campaign 2.
For the whole campaign I was dead sure her name was spelled "K-i-m-a" o.O

Underrated moment: Allura’s “Kima HOLD ON” - that hit me in my soul just as much as the other moments
The last clip has three combinations of true love in one. You have Matt and Marisha's Nat 20s, Vex and Percy's efforts to locate and return Kima and Allurea, while they hold on for dear life.
still the best one ever. i actually have that entire scene cut and saved. its the best moment for me in this campaign.
the music right before laura says "it's yours" is the same that is playing during their wedding in dalen's closet 🥺 how fitting ❤
Especially given what Vex means with "It's yours." being Percy has her heart. :)
2:21 to this day this one for me, when Vex gave her confession to Percy, is hands down one of my greatest moments in campaign one.

It’s also great because of how Vex is pouring her heart out to Percy’s body, even if he may not hear her and how she says her heart is his just makes my heart melt with how Laura delivers it!

The scanlan resurrection kills me every time. The fact that no matter what they did scanlan would leave their lives, whether for a year or for good. Just brutal. And that he couldn’t hear grog? Fuck

@@billzonblox Taliesin's character Percy died and this was his resurrection ritual. The death(happened in the previous episode) hit Sam hard for some reason... maybe because there was a high possibility that it was going to be permanant.
Taliesin was adamant it remained that way until this love confession from Laura

It certainly makes sense. He died fulfilling what he thought was his quest to prevent the proliferation of firearms and to get his revenge on Ripley. So his personal quest was over.
So it’s no surprise it took a confession of love from Vex to pull him back to realize he had more of a role to play, and to live for someone else.
really? i thought he said he wouldn't come back if they prayed to a deity as Percy doesn't believe in them. which was why he said you are so lucky when he came back on set

That was easily a DC 30 perception check to see that far out into the water. She pretty much needed that, and she’s probably the most perceptive of the group.

Watching Liam break down in tears adds up to the psychic damage. They cried for each other, Liam for Scanlan's death, Sam for not being able to save Vax'ildan from incoming, permanent death.
It's been like 5 years since i've watched these episodes and I still cried my eyes out
In my campaign, we had a fun nat 20 love moment. One of our characters died, and their "love interest" (its complicated) kissed them to say goodbye, but our cleric cast revivify and our DM homerules that you have to roll for revives, and he rolled a nat 20 and we all said it was because of true loves kiss.
The dice is the most scariest, but also caring at the right time and knows.

So many would be nat 20 moments turned out to be a 2 or a 9 (NEIN!) and those are easy to forget but those moments make these ones shine.
A lot of these still choke me up and make me have to look up, take a deep breath, then pretend I got something in my eye. Great moments. Good on you for making this. Thank you for the emotional roller coaster.

This comment is a bit late but that first clip hurts seeing how hyped Orion got, even slightly more than everyone else, because it showed how he could be supportive of others when they did something cool. I just wish he was always like this and had stayed with the group but I understand why he had to leave.

You know I never got why Vex didn't just hop off the broom and let them ride it back rather than force them to cling on while incredibly weak. Surely she could swim long enough for the party to come and pick her up.
I wouldn't be so sure. Vex had a Strength of 7 and a Constitution of 10. I do think she was proficient in Athletics, so there'd be a chance, but she'd tire out pretty quickly.
Who is this guy on our far left from the last clip who keeps just shiting all over hope and love even in spite of evidence that their efforts are not in vain?
7:37 - Literally how do people hate Marisha and Keyleth when scenes like this exist? The distress and love in that warbling voice tears at my heart even all these years later, outside of greater context. And how sadly yet well-meaningly Kerr tries to comfort Keyleth when he thinks she's obstinately fighting the truth, and how much she's basically pleading with the fates as well as him that he's wrong.

You are missing out on a lot. There are hundreds of hours you can "waste" on CR campaign 1 and 2, but man, it feels like going on a loooong journey full of adventures.

so are these people just really good actors? Or do they not get to hang out with their friend until the campaigns over because theyre dead, and that make them actually sad?
They're all professional voice actors, and they'd already been playing this campaign for about 2 years before they even started streaming it, so they were about as attached to these characters as humanly possible.
