- A sombre mood prevails at the Phalane home in Soshanguve north of Pretoria, following the fatal shooting of 5-year-old Ditebogo Junior Phalane, who was killed when hijackers attacked his father outside the family home on Friday night.
The incident has drawn widespread reaction and outrage, even political attention. The EFF's Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is amongst the political parties that visited the Phalane family to show support and express condolences.

He’s diplomatically stating the facts, Soshanguve, Hammanskraal, actually the entire far Pretoria North does not have enough law enforcement resources.
e.g. the +-300k population of Hammanskraal currently has one police station, one mall, one hospital…

How realistically? I am a volunteer community police forum member in KwaZulu-Natal and already last like 11 people in our team and had 4 arrested from the same team for engaging with criminals. Realistically the community can't do anything

To be fair this is not all shocking but first condolences to the family but my point is most sociologists will agree in South Africa with unemployment at an all point high this was bound to happen I mean crime has sociological courses and lastly our government is not doing us favor by not realizing that because of the shortcomings or failures in our neighbouring states , some people from our neighbouring states are forced to come here and commit crime. I am saying this because during my short stint with Law modules and at court I realized our magistrates court are dealing with so many cases of crimes committed by people from our neighbouring states. Maybe research need to be conducted on this finally my prayer is with this family and the whole community of Soshanguve
