I went to NYC with a partner that did not want to do ANYTHING, but we DID see the Friends building, and I LOVE Friends. Only the final episode was filmed at warner. Seinfeld was filmed at Radford Studios in studio city, CA. They actually have a NY street on the premises, and so many of the street scenes were shot there.
I just found out the Central Perk was just a set in Burbank where they filmed everything except the outside of this apartment building and some other shots of Manhattan streets where the cast never actually was. 😞

The final episode was filmed at warner bros studios in burbank. In reality, there was nothing NY about friends. LA has 4 studios with exterior sets which can double as NY.

People do manage. Sidewalk almost always have ramps and New Yorkers are very courteous to those in wheelchairs or with strollers, etc.
