I'll show you how to do some 3d effects with air dry clay, as well as how to do an ombre paint finish. This is the sixth ornament in the 6-part series. This is the last ornament in this series. Hi Ivana, I bought the border at Hobby Lobby. You can most likely find something similar at any hobby store.
Do you let your clay dry before glueing and painting?
Hi Lisa
It depends on the project and what type of clay I'm using. With the Delight clay, I normally let that one day and then glue it. If I'm using Das clay, it seems to work better to glue the clay while it's still wet. I have plans to do a video on several types of clay and how to use them. There are so many variables. Different types of molds need different types of clay to get the success you want. Some molds are so delicate, it's impossible to use air dry clay. You have to use the oven bake clay to be able to unmold them. Once Christmas is over, I'll be working on that video. I get asked a lot of questions regarding types of clay. How do you manage to press your work without burning your fingers with the hot glue gun
Well... I have to tell ya, I actually got really tired of burning my fingers...lol... I bought a silicone brush set, it has one in there that looks just like a spatula. That works perfectly and the hot glue doesn't stick to it. There are some smaller ones that are really convenient for getting into small spaces. I left you a link below, so you can find them easily.
