Watched all 3 parts. You really helped me understand the mechanics of the game. Thank you, now I can play with my friends and know what's going on and how to play. xD
Great play through, Dale! Your solid play and great pacing always makes it a joy to watch along. Thank you so much for your time and efforts to put these shows together! Hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy!
I was really in to this game and got everything up until The Forgotten Age but it was just so unforgiving when I played. It was mainly due to my terrible deck building skills, but I gave it away to a local board game cafe last year. I regret the decision but the owner often texts me pictures of people playing it so it was in a good cause.
I fear my deckbuilding skills, or lack there of, may be an issue in a campaign setting. I guess I'll see how it goes. :) Glad to hear people are enjoying your game at the shop!!
I recently got the Revised edition and played through fully with recommended deck and Investigator(Roland) and now trying Skids out and my deck-building skills SUCK that I follow what it says to have and not venture beyond that, but I really enjoy how difficult it can be. My first playthrough with Roland was a bit difficult but I think I got really lucky bag draws, but I still had so much fun. Then again, it could be that I really enjoy not breezing through games or having more stacked against me as it goes. I love it when I lose games my first couple playthroughs. This was also my intro to Lovecraft style gaming.
Thanks for watching! I try to get the playthroughs with one camera angle so you can see how everything works together. I hope to get another campaign out in the next couple weeks/months. :)
Great playthrough. This is a brutal scenario. At the end, the Wizard of the Order spawns at an empty location and gains a doom. The doom doesn't matter since the agenda was about to roll over, but being at another location means you don't get engaged and take attacks of opportunity.
For the investigator card, some card holders from amazon ( amzn.to/3PUNqTa ), and the other items are UberStax and you can find purchase information for them at www.uberstax.com . I also did a video highlighting them at ua-cam.com/video/HBNRANBuKS4/v-deo.html and a handy attachment tray at ua-cam.com/video/dyC9jiuOrwc/v-deo.html . Hope that helps and happy gaming! :)
Good play. Ran out n got this to play w the ol lady while we're stuck in the house. Didn't know you needed two base sets to play any combination of characters😣. I'd totally watch another play through. Super cool if you have more versions and carry over the character to another campaign. You rock. Always enjoy the content
@@DaletheCasualGamer yeah there's enough for two characters, but only in certain combinations due to the fact that you need two class sets per character. Making a breakfast in bed table just to play card games. In another ten days we'll be like the people in Wall E😀
Good playthrough, I am just getting into this game myself. Only thing I noticed was when you advanced the agenda, you forgot to remove the cultist at the ritual site and spawn the ancient one as instructed. Thanks for the entertainment!
Ty for this series. I have a Lot of Fun watching. Not sure How I feel about that bag. Seems a Lot of luck are involved even with mitigation, much more than MC :/
@Henrique Ribeiro Agreed. This game, due to the chaos bag, does have a bit more luck involved in my opinion. Basically I expect to lose in this game more since the values in the bag can just come out all higher than average. As for Marvel Champions, until Galaxys Most Wanted, I felt there were generally tricks/cards you could play to turn the tide of battle to stay alive for another turn. Thanks for watching! :)
Hey Dale, great video as always. I recently bought the Revised Core version of this game and I am trying to decide if I want to go all in and get more expansions, like I did with Marvel Champions. While I enjoy the narrative of this game, I much prefer the gameplay of Champions. And I really don't think my wallet could support staying up to date with TWO lcg's.... haha Did you end up getting rid of this game? I think we have similar taste in games so I was wondering your opinion. Happy gaming!
I still have it. Have been playing with another persons copy on occasion. Like you, I can’t keep up with multiple LCGs and all the other games I get. :)
I noticed that 10 min 44 sec after advancing the agenda you forgot to pick another Encounter card. You picked one as Agenda said, but after that another one should be picked.
Pretty sure the wizard that spawned at 29:35 was supposed to spawn at another empty location right? you didn't have to take all the damage at the end (it didn't matter, but still). Also great play w/ move engaging the acolyte then returning to the ritual site to get the clue w/ rolands ability. I wouldnt have thought to do that.
The ancient one only gets spawned when the last agenda cards is activated - ie after you put the 5 tokens in the last agenda card. At which point it spawns and then the game continues until you either kill it, run away, sacrifice Lita or die
Did you resign in previous scenariou before the last agenda advanced? Because if the last agenda advaced, you would have "Its after midnight" (bells rang) or something like that, which would have you to discard random cards from starting hand
Great quality video and I love the layout for solo play! My girlfriend and I just picked up the game and this agenda really smashed us in two player (twice)! Did the Wizard of the Order get a Doom at the end of the round he spawned or have we been playing him wrong and making it harder on ourselves?
Thanks for watching! You are correct, he would have placed a doom on him at the end of the round, but fortunately it would not have triggered since I was past that portion of the phase. Thanks!
@@shanem6847 Actually the card says to place a doom at the end of the Mythos phase, not the end of the round. That would have brought the doom total to 5 and the agenda would have advanced. Unless...the card means next round's Mythos phase, lol. Man, I've gotten so many rules wrong over time. Either way, awesome play through!
@@DaletheCasualGamer I love FFG's sleeves, but had to find an alternative since they are no longer available. Dragon Shield Clear Classic for cards measuring 63 X 88 mm are very similar, if not identical, to FFG's Standard Card Game Size.
Nice game! But I have a question: How do you have Lita Chantler in your deck but you dont have a mental trauma from the first scenario? I think that the only way to have Lita in your deck is burning your house... and that gives you a mental trauma.
@Oscar Carod Thinks for watching! There is a way to not get mental trauma ... you can get knocked out by another means and end with the "no resolution". In the first play I took sanity and physical damage at the same time to max both out and chose to come in with physical trauma. It's not a recommended way, but I like to show options. ;)
As a new player I m mad. Would say first 5 cards drawn are best possible. Lita + machete + Rolands revolver + top deck dynamite. A chain of nobrainer moves and a win.. I ve tried to complete campaign around 5 times and it wasn't looking this easy at all. Just not getting Lita and machete in first 5 moves would make this snowballing 3 times harder. Even getting them in the first 15 cards is lucky. Do you end up with such a smooth walktroughs often?
My solo games I've played, i feel there was some luck involved in several scenarios (but I definitely didn't win them all). In my multiplayer games, I think it's about the same, but there have been some campaigns that we just couldn't make it to the final battle. I blame the other player for always pulling out the "auto fail" chip. That can happen. Good luck in your next game. :)
on you combat...you seem to apply wounds subtracting the number of hits from the monsters health. If their health was 3 and you ended up with 5 you take two hits from the monster. I thought a hit meant the monster got only one wound no matter your roll. of course some cards give you an additional wound. am i missing something? on several attacks you kill the monster when you roll 3 (6) above its health of 3.
In general, the "tokens" don't have anything to do with damage, just whether the test was successful or not. Damage is also generally just one damage, but many assets in play may also boost the damage total. Hope that helps!

On 27th minute I think you took 4 actions xd. Move, fight, fight and investigate 😅
Moving with the enemy engaged was smooth 👌🏼
