Well done. Very helpful. I'm setting up a second, third, and fourth Coldcard and am paying huge attention to be sure I do it correctly. Your videos help. Thanks!
When i restore my 24 Words at any wallet and after that i type in the 25 Word will i be in the former Wallet where i create my Seedphrase + Passphrase?
Really liked your video. I have a Trezor T that I have used to control some BTC. On the Trezor there is a passphrase wallet. I can connect the Trezor T and connect it to my Sparrow installation. However, I can only see the “non-passphrase” wallet. How can I enter the passphrase into Sparrow once the Trezor T is connected?
@@SouthernBitcoiner thanks for replying My question is: I already setup & stored #btc in a ColdCard wallet with 24 seed words. Can I remove/ delete/ edit those existing seed words OR do I have to buy a new CordCard and set it up with other/ different seed words
@@iliaspananidis3988You can not change any info on your existing wallet !! You can however create a new wallet to your liking within the same Coldcard AND move your coins from the existing wallet to your new wallet. You can NOT any info in any new wallets, you can only move coins in between wallets if it makes sense.
I had the same question. Re-setting your hardware wallet that has bitcoin and creating a new seed phrase will not affect the bitcoin at the original seed phrase. You could re-set the wallet again and enter in the original seed phrase and your bitcoin will still be there.
The problem with the passphrase as it is used and explained today is that most users will create a passphrase that will be neither strong nor random, providing very little protection against attacks but putting their wallets at great risk.
They are essentially the same thing, but testnet produces blocks a lot quicker and coins are worthless. I have a video on testnet, check my channel for that
@@SouthernBitcoiner Does this generate a new wallet then? Or does your current wallet (The one you added the passphrase to) now require the passphrase? Or will you end up with 2 wallets? 1 that is just your seed with the bitcoin you already have stored there (original wallet), and another empty wallet which is seed + passphrase?
Great, informative video. This is exactly how tutorials should be done. I agree with prior comments - this channel deserves more subs.
Your channel needs to blow up. I am shocked you don't have at least 500k subscribers by now. Love your videos.
Bitcoin University and Southern Bitcoiner are all you need!
Agreed, I would add BTC sessions though :)
This is by far the best channel. Precise, clear, direct. Thank you

perfect explanation my friend, thank you so much
Thank you!
You explained it clearly and easily. Will wait to watch the next clip. Thank you very much.

Well done! I always recommend a pass phrase.
Love your tutorials
Very informative channel, although people will need to have some basic knowledge to understand these videos 👍. Well done
As always top content. Thanks

Is it possible to add a passphrase to and existing Coldcard Sparrow wallet?
Once pass phrases are set/saved (ie in Cold Card), can you change/add/remove those pass phrases?
Yes, you can add a new passphrase at any time. But that new passphrase will unlock a completely different wallet

No, you are free to set up a new wallet at any time. No need to buy a new one.
Just ensure you have the old one backed up if there is bitcoin on it

If I create passphrase using sparrow. Is same passphrase required if i use a different software other than sparrow? Assuming same seed phrase in use.
Yes. The same seed phrase + passphrase will be needed across all software / hardware.
However some wallets might not support it
Great video! Why does test net look identical to the actual network? How do you toggle between the two?
They are essentially the same thing, but testnet produces blocks a lot quicker and coins are worthless.
I have a video on testnet, check my channel for that
Why not spaces or capital letters?
You can decide which standard you like- I think this is easiest to remember
@@SouthernBitcoiner Fair enough. I thought you were stating it as a requirement and not a preference.
Does the passphrase have to be from the 12 0r 24 words that you have used for your key or can you use any 39 BIP words or even your own words?
You can use your own words or use bip39 words
Don’t use the same words from your seed phrase
Genius❤
Can you add a passphrase to an existing wallet?
Yep you can
