  • Spoken and sung words should be intelligible. Unfortunately, it can be technically challenging to retain intelligibility, when recording or amplifying the voice. In this video, we present some facts on speech intelligibility and, most importantly, how to retain it. Also check out our article - Facts about speech intelligibility:

It often hide a 4060 or 6060 inside the spectacle arm as far forward as possible… it gets around clothing noise and head turns, it sounds pretty good

The reason why lower frequencies of speach are omnidirectional is that the lower the speech frequency the more of the upper body resonates from the vivrations of the vocal cords and that can produce sound aswell

I would just like to say, I really appreciate this I'm looking into the possibility of increasing my microphone resonance at specific frequencies to respond more to the 1500 to 3000 Hz frequency range. hi fidelity is not my pursuit as you see I am a CB radio guy.
I would like to increase the output power in these frequency ranges for better intelligibility on the radio and I must say this is very fascinating for someone who is already incredibly enthralled with the idea of electromagnetic and acoustic waves in general.

Thank you. It is a really clear explanation of how microphone placement changes the frequency response of sound. Thanks again.

Do you use a broadcast-headset for your video?
Is it possible to connect this headset to the usb-port of the pc or do you need a usb-interface/ preamp?

Hi. It is our 6066 subminiature headset. You need an audio interface to connect to a computer. :-)
