I LOVE this song and video so much! The entire album is brilliant! I remember listening to it the day it came out as I was walking to work and I could not stop dancing.
Given all the extras in the Shake Tramp video were family & friends of the band, as they were strapped for cash after both Say Anything & Decided To Break It struggled on the charts, this wouldn’t shock me.
I love this video and song. It's very much like like the MT videos where there's always something funny going on. Gotta love the part where the Josh in salmon is either rubbing the racket or possibly pretending to play, but somehow I doubt it lol. Also loving the Fionn twins voices in this. Don’t be sad, they used to play Marianas Trench a lot on the radio before the pandemic. And now, I haven’t heard a single Marianas Trench song since then. They play…what you said: garbage music.
I can't tell exactly what it is, but the instrumental has a very unpleasant overproduced commercialized sound. It sounds like if someone tried to make a parody of an absurdly generic, over the top pop track. Just being honest, i imagine this is why you havent popped off yet, you should really change it up not many people will want to listen to stuff like this. Also that one sound "BAHM BAHM - BAHM BAHM!" that played throughout track sounds like something friends would play to wake someone up from a slumber in the most unpleasant way possible. I'm not sure if you're the type to write off legitimate criticism as " h8er's gonna h8" But i hope not, i hope you can improve and make a good career off your music some day
Man I love Josh, but doesn't this chorus sound almost identical to the one from "It Ain't Me" by Selena Gomez? I understand there's only so many notes so its hard to write something completely original, but its hard to hear this song without also hearing that one.
Listening to them back to back & I don’t hear it at all? Similar builds to a drop but drastically different. And Josh has a bad tendency to interpolate other songs into his own stuff OFTEN. This isn’t one of those cases.

Here’s hoping that this allows the song to reach radio & blow it up to give Josh a push while he continues work on the new MT album.
