2023 Changan CS55 is another game changing or game jeopardizing 5 Seater SUV/CROSSOVER in the world.
Features might differ depending where you are but the biggest complaint from many car reviewers here was about the 7 speed DCT lag. I was always wondering why would the WET type sound like DRY type from many?
I had to drive it myself and boy I was surprised.
The 2023 Changan CS 55 Plus will join the competition of Ford Territory, the MG HST, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, and Changan CS35.

CVT transmission is the most vulnerable to breakdown because of that 'rubber band effect', the torque converter type is also vulnerable to overheating but the DCT is the most reliable because no torque that is coming from the engine does goes to waste
you weren't able to test the traffic jam assist right? i was wondering if its the same as other ADAS features, if the car stops for a few seconds you still need to step on the gas pedal or button for it to resume traffic jam assist..

DCT is the most reliable and efficient in terms of fuel consumption than other types of automatic transmission. So those complaints are just false convictions

I don't understand why the agent said there is no auto hold but in their brochure, all variants have auto hold.
Apparently, the autohold feature of this car will be added in the next software update that Changan promises to send to our shores this December. Once updated, you can activate the autohold feature in the infotainment and it should automatically activate it when you’re stepping on the brakes for a certain period of time. The dash should show that it is activated. Where did I get this info? From another agent and through Changan Philippines customer service email address. I sent them an email to confirm that the autohold feature will really be included in the next software update.

How about the AEB...they said that it detects the car on your side when overtaking and it tends to slow you down instead?

Hi sir SoJoo, when the agent said that the autohold function will be coming from an update. Does he mean a software update? Since there is no physical button for the autohold function, how do you think will they integrate that to the car?
It might be like the ford ranger and everest. Could be the system could be the physical in the next upgrade. Let me update

Is the transmission sourced from the same DCT suppliers as the MG HS?
I don't think so. This drives a lot better than the MG

MG is sh**ty bro clutch wont holdup already had 2 units. this drives a little bit better but transmission of geely own version DCT is better than changan definitely. But for the price this is ok. No one can answer now hoping it will last.
Is it the delay? I also watch Reygan's video and he mentioned a 1 second delay even in sports mode. We only have an AT Innova 2013 and I jist shift to 3 or 2 if I want instant tourque for overtaking and steep climb. We are really eyeing this as an alternative car when I'm not using my Innova as people hauler.
It was raining and I had very limited time with it. I guess what my friends felt can be felt in long rides.
DCT transmission klangan perfect yung timing mo sa pag apak ng gas at rpm para no delay in acceleration. Kung first time mo gumamit ng DCT para kang nangangabayo sa umpisa.

Is there really no auto hold as mentioned by the agent? Why is there is auto hold for all variants in the brochure?
Great review! Went to MOA last night to try the 55 in the small track so I didnt have the chance to test the "delay" of the DCT.
One question tho, re: auto hold, will it be available for those who will buy the car now? Or we wait for the updated version? Thanks

Don't buy a Changan. I own one and the build quality is very poor.I would and should have got a Toyota which is always going to be in demand and have spare parts available. I'm now told there are only 2 Changan service centre's now in Luzon. Very difficult to sell and has lost a lot of money

Purchased it from Alabang. And the car has non of the specs you get on a car in the UAE for example. Even the wireless phone charger never worked. They told me it didn’t come with that option. What a load of BS
