I had the same issue as Brandon. I think it is the fact of the internal rim width being 21mm or less combined with the Air-Liners. There is just not enough space for the sealant and carbon fibers to flow into the lower section while you are trying to mount the tire. Like Brandon said, the stuff is too good at plugging holes/gaps. I got maybe 1oz into the tire with remaining 7oz on me and the floor. I ended up using the Replenisher to make up the difference in the rear tire and only the Replenisher in the front tire. The Replenisher is a very good sealant on it's own. My tires hold pressure for more than a couple weeks before I need to top off the air pressure. A couple hundred miles and no issues.

The Vittoria inserts are super easy to work with. Do an uncut version with Cushcore inserts and it'll get demonetized for foul language 😂

Nice, i have just learned of your product. I was told it is much much more superior then any other sealant. I ordered some online. I'm excited it get it in my tires. Nice tutorial, easy to understand and follow.

I run 28mm tyres with Tubolight inserts on my road bike and had to use a different brand of sealant that I could inject through the valve. The tyres I use are a very tight fit on my wheels, especially with the addition of an inset and there is absolutely no way this method would work.
Hopefully Silca will introduce an injectable sealant at some point in the future.... 😎

I totally agree! The best part of Silca is the high pressure sealing capability. It’s a PIA to use with road inserts and after a year of struggle will switch to another brand.

I used the milkit syringe, worked like a charm

This doesn’t really work for road tires with inserts. You can’t pull the insert into the tire as there isn’t enough space, and you don’t have enough “lip” to pour the sealant into, even before snapping any of the bead on. The sealant is just too good. It starts to seal that small gap!
The only thing I’ve found that works is to push the carbon fiber particles with fingers or a tire lever into the rim and add extra replenisher sealant through the valve. I actually wish you sold the carbon fiber particles separately so I could just toss that into tire and then put the sealant in through the valve.

Ahh this is a nightmare. I got it to work for a year but im over it. So messy. dry carbon is a good idea!

Now do it on a 25mm road tire 😂
More interested in knowing how to stop the aggregate in silca sealant from clumping and becoming ineffective.

Yeah this sealant clumps even if I add replenisher regularly. So messy

thanks for this video because I just asked my LBS mechanic and he shut me down and said, "You don't need both. It's overkill." He wouldn't even explain how to set it up even if I wanted to.

To seat stubborn tubeless tires the only reliable actual trick i found is manually seating the tire bead with a tirelever halfway around the tire ending at the valve. Do that on both sides and theres enough tension build up that it will jump up onto the bead extremely easy. Worked for me across many manufacturers of wheels and tires. Just getting a compressor or tire booste is not a trick, its just throwing money at the problem.

Realistically how far could you ride on the foam inserts if you got a flat? I would love to use these for sprint or Olympic distance triathlons, because those events are short enough that if you have to stop and change your tire, your race is over.

Depends on the size of insert and your body weight, but a few years back one of the WT teams we work with had 2 riders finish Roubaix on flats that both thought were just slow leaks and both likely happening in the Carrefour de l'arbre which is a 2mk sector of Pave that's 12km or so from the Roubaix Velodrome, so after that we've been sold on the things!

How much sealant for 28mm tire?

Okay that was crazy sloppy and would never work with a thick casing (1,200g+) 2"+ mtb tire.
I get the bead 95% on and then carefully pour sealant through the tiny hole opening, yes even with an insert installed. On 2.4" dh cased tires, 30mm id rims. I'll add a splash of 'replenisher' to the main tubeless liquid just to help the mix from drying out prematurely. 70g sealant with 15-20g of replenisher (27.5" wheels).
Best sealant ever for race day scenarios...

Not impressed with this... For several reasons...
The sealant is now covering both the inside of the tyre and the outside of the liner - no wonder he poured so much in
Won't the sealant just get gelled up where the liner rests against the inside of the tyre?
    Rolling resistance?
As a previous poster mentioned - show us this on a road tyre..
What a mess - why not use the valve to get the sealant in?
Whats the issue with using tyre levers? Is there a problem?
Added how much weight to the wheel?
    This cannot be the answer!
